Just realized we didn't have one. Laughing

Uh, here's an article from the Hamilton Spectator on Price and Chipchura:

Mikhail Grabovski.... is DESTROYING the AHL the past two weeks or so.

5 games... SEVENTEEN points... FIVE CONSECUTIVE FIRST STAR SELECTIONS. I honestly don't recall anyone at any advanced level doing that (5 straight first stars).

Trade bait or callup?

Looks like they took a point away from him last night, so it's actually 16 points.

6 goals, 10 assists. Hamilton has won all 4 games after being a pretty disappointing team. Grabovski got injured in his second game after being demoted in late November, and only recently came back. After a few quiet games, he's gone on this tear.

I meant distributed per-game? i.e. Did he have, like, two insanely massive nights?

He had one where he got a hat trick and an assist, two where he got 3 assists, last night he had 1 + 2, and then I guess the 4th he must've had 2 + 1. Very evenly distributed from what I gather. So I guess 5 straight 3 point games.

With Halak up in Montreal for the rest of the year, the Bulldogs call on the top ECHL goalie, Cedric Desjardins:

http://echl.leaguestat.com/stats/player.php?id=633

16-4-1-1 record, 5 shutouts, 1.94 GAA, .930 SV%. Even pitched a shutout period in the ECHL All-Star Game.

Due to technicalities, he's only officially signed by Hamilton, not Montreal, but given next year's goaltending situation, he will almost surely get a NHL contract from Montreal this off-season and challenge for the Hamilton starting job with Yann Danis leaving.

Article on Chipchura, who wishes he was up in Montreal helping the team to first, but says staying in Hamilton is better than what could've been the alternative... getting dealt at the deadline.

Interesting note on the Habs/Bulldogs relationship put in the "by the numbers" part of the article... the Habs were one of only 7 NHL teams who did not provide their AHL affiliate with the possibility of NHL roster players joining the team for the playoffs. Halak, Price, O'Byrne, Grabovski, Sergei Kostitsyn, and Lapierre all spent time in Hamilton this year, but none will see any action in the AHL playoffs in the event that Montreal gets knocked out before Hamilton does. As for what's left for Hamilton, only 2 players have seen action in Montreal, or anywhere in the NHL this year (Chipchura and 1 gamer Corey Locke), which is the fewest of any AHL team.
