This is from the Sabres website. There's a video with Rob Ray, Darcy Regier, Harry Neale and Kevin Sylvestor (local broadcasting idiot)

Then there's a survey you can fill out.

I HATE fighting for nothing. In recent seasons, it seems that players fight just to prove they can fight. The day of enforcers (unfortunately) is over.

The "enforcer rule" no longer exists. If someone runs your top player, there is no 'designated' player to recipricate.

The result of this is that individual Tough Guys take it on themselves to "recipricate".

But there is no "rule" there. The players now do not have a guide to go to.

Do I believe that fighting is necessary? YOU BETCHA!!

DO I BELIEVE THAT EVERY TEAM NEEDS A FIGHTER?

YOU BETCHA

Lil

Fighting is a means of policing the game. And if two guys wanna go for other reasons, that's cool too.

But the NHL won't police itself (see Flyers, Philadelphia), and won't let the players do it themselves. That's the fundamental problem with hockey today...
