Short of a shutout by everybody knows who--I expect the nucks to lose
3-1 wild
The nux lack of finish lately is not inspiring confidence.Minny isn't LA or NYI scoring chances will be limited.

38 shots on goal with 3 min to go & they are down 3-1.
The goalie for the wild has given up a ton of JUICY rebounds & yet where's
the scoring.

The officiating in this game has been very slanted towards the wild--

3-2 pyatt scores

* sigh *

0-17-1 when trailing after 2 periods. And it's not as if Minnesota played that much better than Vancouver.

Seeing Pyatt play so well with the Sedins, it really makes you wonder how much better off he'd be if AV had kept him on that line during the entire season. Mad

40 shots on goal and 38 of them into the glove or crest of backstrom!! WTF Empty nets missed a definite case of squeezing the stick and not getting the quality shot off and just trying to hit the net! Luongo looked great on a number of saves but the ones that got in especilaly the last one meh looked like the whole team gave given that Salo shot one into the empty net tells me that there's more than a little frustration. I hope to see a different team after the allstar break!

Yeah,Luongo is definitely slumping, 23 goals against in his last seven games,I guess all the Nuck bashers were right when they said Vancouver is nothing without Luongo. If this team is to win we need vintage Louie and nothing less.

I don't know what the deadline will bring but I am prepared for disappointment again,If we decided to send Kesler and a pick for Sundin it wouldn't bother me in the least,Kesler is far too expensive for AV's System,Why the hell do we need a 1.8 million dollar checker. We need goals dammit,If TO. wants him,I say send him.jmo

Canucks look like the team that started last season , they've come full circle!

They say Luongo's wife is having prego difficulties and has been in Florida with family and staying there for the remainder of the season , speculating Luongo is a little distracted of late.

If it wasnt for the slumping , these games individually were entertaining. Now with that being said , I am little concerned with the lack of Ws... get back to conservative hockey and win again please!

I think it would be a big mistake to let Kesler go for a rental, even one as good as Sundin. Kesler has the size, wheels, tenacity and smarts to be an elite-level checking forward. When he's playing well, he's not only stifling the opposing team's best line, he's also creating offence like he did last night - he might not have gotten a point but Burrows' goal was a direct result of his driving to the net and drawing the defenceman and the goalie to him. At $1.8M, he's well below what a typical player might get (~50M/21 players = $2.38M/player). If anything, Cooke is redundant; guys in the A like Jaffray, Balej, etc. are a dime a dozen but a dozen of those guys aren't going to give you a return like Sundin. And Cliff Fletcher isn't likely to give anything away unless Sundin wants it.

If I were DN, in my mind, the following players would be "untouchable":

Luongo
Sedins
Kesler
Edler (along with LB and BXA, could be the foundation for their defense in the future)
Mitchell
Bourdon (I still have hope that he'll evolve into a top defensive pairing)
BXA (primarily because of his LTI)
BMo (primarily because of his LTI)

The following have NTCs but if they were predisposed, then I would be willing to let them go for the right price:

Salo
Ohlund
Naslund

The following are guys I would hate to part with at this juncture, since they seem to be on the rise, or seem to be good value for the money:

Pyatt
Burrows (making minimum wage and very effective with Kesler)

The following are the guys at the top of my list to ship out assuming that there are those who are willing to take them:

Cooke
Krajicek
Weaver
Miller
Isbister
Cowan
Linden
Jaffray
Ritchie
Beech

Granted, there's not going to be a great market for any of these guys.
