Scientists say an Asteroid will pass between earth and our communications satellites. Then 7 years later when it comes back it'll stand a good chance of hitting the earth. That all depends on how the Earth's gravity affects it the first time by.

I don't have a link or anything just going by what they are saying on the history channel.

Thats kinda scary

History, Discovery, etc. all use to be good channels now they are all about self promotion and hype. Not saying they are full of it, just saying they could be pushing the most dramatic side of the issue.

Why not? It's not like bad things will stop happening to the Earth just because we're here. Now.. whether we can predict that is another story.

I am pretty sure you are referring to Apophis.......

http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/

Here is an article direct from Nasa's NEO project regarding it.

http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/apophis/

Here is the listing of KNOWN impact risks from NASA.
http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/risk/

Of course I highly doubt they would come right out and tell you that civilization as we know it is about to end. I don't think the majority of people would want to know anyway.

See the 2012 special.......that gave me the willies for a week!

We've got a far more likely chance of being eradicated by a Polar shift during this cycle. Humans could have far less impact via global warming then they give themselves credit for. The Planet could just be going through its natural cycle of a polar shift. But hey I like Ron Paul...........and UFOs.

No as I said I'm kinda done with that stuff, between the constant hype of doom and gloom and the cheesy actors cruising around with dinosaurs I've had it with those once good channels as they've sold out, but still act like they think they are educational. I'll just watch FOX as I'd rather have a shallow honest relationship than live a lie.

I'm certain that's open to interpretation. Wink

While a lot of the End Times shows are nothing more than cheap horror flicks there are other channels like NatGEO and the Science channel that keep it moderately real.

Trudging through life in blissful ignorance has its benefits.

We gotta get Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck up there pronto.

And then we gotta find someone who can destroy this thing.

How about the Asteroid that arrives tomorrow?

http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/080128-asteroid-radar.html

And now some reassuring words from your funded scientists:

Quote:
TU24, discovered by NASA's Catalina Sky Survey on Oct. 11, 2007, is one of an estimated 7,000 near-Earth objects identified to date (another 7,000 are estimated to exist but are yet to be discovered).

"We have good images of a couple dozen objects like this, and for about one in 10, we see something we've never seen before," said Mike Nolan, head of radar astronomy at the Arecibo Observatory. "We really haven't sampled the population enough to know what's out there."

Curious about "known" - ever since it was revealed that American media did not legally have to tell you what they knew to be truer i.e. Outfoxed and The Corporation docs. Coupled with the New England Journal of Medicine's article concerning anti-depressants - what do you mean by "known"? True? Accurate?

Well the KNOWN on the list are just the ones its safe to tell us about.......seriously I don't think they would ever tell us until the last possible moment that we were about to get plunked.......

Would you? The world would benefit from population reduction anyway. The fabric of current society would shatter. Authority structure would be irrelevant.....people would run around raping, pillaging, looting with only a thought to frontier justice. But that's what they want you to believe.

People just might come together before the end and finally toss off the yoke of their oppressors.

I am not familiar with either scenario that you present BCG however misplacing blind trust in any source is a mistake. There is always 3 sides to a story....and in this country's case sometimes 8.

Has George got the missile defence shield up yet, and can it be used to shoot down asteroids?

What a coincidence... 2036 is the year I predict the Leafs will win the Cup again.
