To be fair, I don't think teams ever actually tank, but it's certain that once they're eliminated, they definitely have a lot less to play for. If there was an incentive to keep on winning, it would go a long way both for game quality and for playoff results not being affected by competitors playing against opponents with nothing to play for. |
Ottawa definitely tanked their first year in the league... Was that to get Yashin, or Bonk? I forget... Either way served them right  |

Yeah, I just remember being offended because we beat them twice at the end of the year and everyone assumed they tanked
