Good news , Bad news for Canucks fans

Bad news , this doesnt look good at all for Vancouver.

Good news ,this is one of those games I really really like and will bet against the Canucks hoping to cash in on their misery. Which means , look out NYG's style upset tonight.

I insist that the title be changed to "Mtb @ Dal".

I for one feel our call-ups are going to do well:

There's a useful moose loose in the hoose:

and they're going to score goals by the bucket full!

Fuck. Goalpost does them in in the shootout.

At least they salvaged a point with that lineup.

Why oh why do we suck at the shoot out? Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I am not dissatisfied with the result with the depleted team they held their own, and Nazzy had a Snazzy night: 2 goals and a shoot-out goal!

Naslund scoring would be one of the few highlights last night - I won't say it's been good for his confidence, since he's been streaky as hell. But it certainly won't harm his confidence knowing that he scored. Nice puck movement and finally a touch pass from MayRay on the first goal.

The other highlight for me would be that this largely Moose/mucker lineup held one of the highest scoring teams in the West to two goals.

Dallas... high scoring? Wow. 2nd in the West to Detroit, 9th overall. Of course, they're just minutely better than the rest, but still. Dallas?

Was just as surprised to hear that on the broadcast last night... Yep. Ribeiro has really been clicking with Morrow, and Modano has Lehtinen back so they have two good scoring lines.

Too bad he's going to get his ass kicked in the year 2013, and basically kill his career.

They were a goal post away from stealing a W , to which I continue to question AV , why do you continue to bench Trevor Linden? its not just the SO , he's a better player than all your 4th liners. I dont get it.

The Canucks are officially 11 deep into their defensive depth. Sami came back early too i suspect. Great for Edler and Bourdon.

I applaud The Weave , McIver and Zach , all played with grit and heart.

11 deep... That's close to how Edmonton ended last year. Edmonton had to sign a 20 year old prospect in junior of theirs to come up and play, didn't they? They didn't want to do that for CBA reasons (earlier UFA/arbitration age down the line), but had no choice. They literally ran out of defensemen they had under contract. But it helped them with Gilbert's development.

Part of the hilarity of all this is that the only Canuck defense prospect in junior who could get the emergency call-up is Taylor Ellington. Who is, needless to say, injured.

There are a lot of questionable things that AV does,You wonder why we have so many injuries on the backend?Well here's a theory,AV plays our top offensive guys an average of about 16 minutes per game Shocked He than trys to linematch our checkers with the other teams lineup to the average of 18- 22 minutes per game Shocked Because of this, our D-men spend so much time running around in our own zone that they can't help but incur injuries.AV has got to stop playing guys like Kesler,Cooke and Burrows more than he plays Naslund and the Sedins,It's just freaking stoopidd!!

Makes me glad my team has two regulars who can play both forward and D in the NHL (Streit and Dandenault). We actually had 3 in training camp, but the third (Jamie Rivers) didn't make the team and instead of going to the AHL, signed in Russia.

We've only had a maximum of 2 NHL d-men injured at the same time so far, so we haven't had to get really creative in the regard, but the thought of at least some level of competency and experience is nice. In theory, at 11 deep, that #11 would be the first really questionable individual for us, though as a collective, it'd be really rough especially without 2 or all 3 of our big 3.

I buy that theory. But I'd also put it on the team's makeup... AV's dealing the cards he was given. This team needs to be a better puck possession team.

Maybe AV is just misreading the cards,For instance,We have a youngster by the name of Mason Raymond who is averaging about .5 pts per game,Yet he gets about 11 maybe 12 minutes a game,We keep hearing complaints of no offence,Yet imo,The problem is not giving the people who have some offensive ability the chance to use it.

Again my theory is our D-men would be a hell of a lot healthier if they spent more time at the point than they do in the corners.

I think AV has to seriously rethink his system and start playing offensively instead of just offensive.
