Laughing

But that picture clearly shows Shannon making contact with the goalie in his crease before the puck enters the goalcrease... clear cut goaltender interference.

Well based on how it was called last night, you have to be outside of the crease and the goalie moving into you to have a goal called back for goalie interference.

Here's the replay

and Khabby's subsequent blocker to the back of Shannon's head Laughing

With the angle of the photo I don't think the contact is clearly illustrated at all. The official has better sight lines from this picture.

Regardless, it was an exciting play.

On a regular play, a d-man would've done something similar. What's the big deal? That's his crease.

You can't interfere with the goalie like that. That's just as clear cut as it gets.

Shannon's body is in between Khabibulin's arm and his body, and that's not interference?

I'm saying that it "appears" that Shannon's body is in between Bulin's arm and his body. The angle of this photograph magnifies that. To the extent that it was goaltender interference or not: the official had a better view. I'm not convinced that in this situation Bulin was impaired to stop the puck. Razz

My favourite Shannon play of the night was his open ice hit on Sopel , Sopes was doing his best Gelinas impression! great hits last night.. Perreault took a bunch of them , Perreault was gift wrapped for Pyatt.

If an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper, incidental or otherwise, while the goalkeeper is in his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

There's no way this goal should've counted. The "angle of the photograph". Laughing His leg is UNDERNEATH HIS ARM, and in the goal crease! The angle doesn't change that fact. And the fact that it was followed through, and he did make contact with Khabibulin... it was a horrible call by the refs to allow the goal.

A fitting end to a game filled with phantom calls! I mean the goal is questionable at best but bulin was over committed and the contact was brought on more by him. HE could have had a better chance to argue the point had he not acted like a little beotch and smacked Shannon in the back of the head the highlight of the night for me is when Shannon turned and WOOO'd right in KRabby's face.

Just like the tennis/volleyball play where you touch the net on the follow through... whether the other guy could or couldn't retrieve it if you had done it legally doesn't matter.
