Campbell’s agent meets with Regier
| Quote: |
“We didn’t go from zero to 100 today but we’re still moving down the road,” Regier said during the second intermission of the Sabres’ game against the Ottawa Senators in Scotiabank Place. “But I think the fact that you’re communicating means you are moving down the road.” |
Ah, Darcy. Ever the opimist.
| Quote: |
“[A trade] doesn’t concern me right now,” Campbell said. “Buffalo is where I believe I’ll be at the end of the year. I feel strongly about it but I do know it’s out of my control. I’m focused on the Sabres and that’s it. Any time deadline day comes around for any player, you never know. For me, I hope that never is the case that I get traded.” |

There's an unconfirmed rumor going around that Campbell has agreed to a deal.
*crosses fingers*

Not really much new but the organization is spinning this as some kind of big break through.
Sabres' Regier concentrates on re-signing Campbell
| Quote: |
| “We continue to communicate, have spoken over the last couple of days and I expect we will again over the next few days,” Regier said. “Money and terms have been discussed.” |
| Quote: |
| Regier said there was a lot of “tire kicking” at the meetings but no concrete talks about deals because so many teams still feel they’re in the playoff hunt. He said he received no offers for Campbell at the meetings. There were 18 scouts listed on the press box roster Wednesday, including three from Edmonton and two from Dallas. |

Rejected.
3 years and between $5.5 and $5.75 million. They think its the length, not the money.
Whatever. _________________ I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

To think they could have had him at 5/25 last offseason.
It's a shame too because the team is rolling now and currently sitting in a playoff spot. Methinks Regier will simply hold on to him and let him leave in the offseason, since I strongly doubt the return for Campbell would be much help getting into the playoffs.
Another move that might hurt the long-term future of the franchise, but better in the immediate.
How's Ryan Miller been lately? He's the one that could turn this team from a decent one to a very good one in the playoffs. _________________ Beat my drum down in Mexico! To Tijuana, Tijuana here we go!

Ryan has his shining moments. He's been playing very well lately. But when he lets one in it tends to be on something stupid. Like he's been having issues with Cerebral Flatulence.
Overall he's been great lately though. _________________ I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I didn't pay much attention to the game tonight because I was doing homework while it was on. Besides after they blew the lead I just got annoyed.
Anyway Campbell's agent came out and said he expects Campbell to be traded.
| Quote: |
Monday morning, Campbell said that he didn't know of any futher progress on talks, and that he would not counter the Sabres three year offer for less than $6-million per season that he rejected last week.
Campbell did say that he was open to fielding any follow-up offers from the Sabres. |

The Campbell era in Buffalo is over. Possibly Bernier or Goc or Ehrhoff going the other way. _________________ Beat my drum down in Mexico! To Tijuana, Tijuana here we go!

Welcome to the Nathan Paetsch era!
Buffalo will love Bernier. |
