I've seen receiver's whose feet are in the end zone, not get the TD because they can't get the ball across.. |
Oh yeah, I know that's how it is for TD's, but my buddy said that the ball should have actually been spotted where his knee was down in that situation. |
Well, yes if he's facing forwards
In this case he was coming back to the ball
Spotting from the knee is supposed bring the ball back, not forward
I actually thought the Giants got a very favorable spot on that |
Hmm, he seemed to think that the knee spot applied there, but I don't know for sure and you probably know better than I do as well

| Sorry Bosc, outside of the New England area, and apparently one home in Vancouver, everyone wanted the Pats to LOSE every week |
No offense to you and our other Pats fans here, but it just seemed like there were shitloads more Pats fans that came out of the woodwork as the season went on, people who didn't seem to care at all when they were on their previous runs. It was just driving me nuts. Didn't seem like there was a lot of middle ground, either you wanted to see them win, or you wanted them to lose... _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Whatever Razz,Have you ever even been to New England?or Boston for that matter??You act like you were a born and raised Pats/Bruins fan Doesn't everybody have the right to cheer for whomever they feel like cheering for??I mean,We put up with you cheering for the Bruins even though you're from the Vancouver area and you seem to think that makes you SPESHUL??? Give it a rest,You're not the only true sports fan out there,I watch all the NFL games ,Yet,I don't have any particular favorite,Does that make me one of the people that don't deserve to cheer for the Pats Just reading your posts makes me laugh,So much anger buddy |

Razz, you kill me, seriously
I remember when Hugh Millen was going to be the savior
He was someone else's garbage that had one semi-decent season here
(slightly more TDs than Ints?) so they re-signed him to the richest contract in team history...
Ever heard of him? Didn't think so...money well spent
I really have no problem with Johnny come latelies, none whatsoever
If you wanna cheer for a team, it's not required that you were raised in their colors.
Bosc, perhaps some people in your neck of the woods like to latch onto a winner, so you have all the sudden born again's.
Across the states however, there is a very real dislike for anything Boston
It's not just a recent phenomenon, either.
Belichick's arrogance has only fueled it further this season.
In a way I envy Razz, because despite being 16-0 regular season, this hasn't been a very enjoyable season, being so close to it.
Since everyone was expecting them to win it all before they had played one game ( see the original title of this thread ) there was really nothing to gain, and everything to lose in a way.
If they won, it would have been "Whew!!"
Since they were expected to win, we're just hoping they don't blow it
I was almost hoping they would lose one during the season, so they could get it out of the way.
The Giants conversely, had nothing to lose, and everything to gain
If they had fallen by 4 points, they wouldn't be happy, but their fans could still say " Hell, we gave 'em a game"
Someone on the other page posted that everyone thought it was gonna be a blowout, but that's not true.
I, for one, posted twice that I thought the Giants were more likely to win
I didn't flat out predict them as the winner, but Dr. Z in SI did.
I think really it the was media, and a few knucklehead fans, that thought the Pats weren't beatable
They certainly looked beatable over the last half of the season
And they were _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

Millen! I remember him, he played for the Broncos for a brief spell too!
In hindsight I'm glad the '99 Broncos didn't do it either, tanking against (ironically) the Giants (I think that was when they had the amazing QB tandem of Kent Graham and Danny Kanell, Graham beat us on a Hail Mary if I remember correctly) and then summarily tanking against the Marino-led Dolphins. The Broncos got their shit together, promptly whipped the Fishies in the playoffs, and then steamrolled the Falcons in the Super Bowl. |

What the hell? All I did was agree with Bosc that the nouveau Pats fans are annoying. I finally agree with a poster, Bosc of all of them, and I catch shit |

Yeah, we cheated 18 times this year. We cheated when we won our Superbowls. Hell, we're probably already cheating in preparation for next year.

Well well well, not-so-perfect after all.
The only bad thing about this is that those old farts in Miami can keep gloating. But given how cocky the Pats have been this year I have even less sympathy than I had before.
A miserable football season is over. Thank God. |
Running up the score on every single opponent isn't cocky, it's an FU to all the naysayers and "whistle blowers". Cocky is showing up on the sidelines to gloat when every undefeated team loses that first game... |
And this one,It just seems thst you are always at somebody or someone for not seeing it your way,You should be enjoying the fact that this was one of maybe 5 times in history that this deserved to be called the Superbowl instead of the Stuporbowl |

Mora to take over for Holmgren after '08.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7764658/Sources:-'Hawks-tab-Mora-Jr.-as-next-head-coach?MSNHPHMA
Holmgren should just step aside NOW...he's been burned out for a while and quite frankly hasn't a clue when it comes to management. Also, why replace him with a guy who all but said he'd ditch whatever team was stupid enough to hire him if the University of Washington job were ever offered? All this does is make it easier for him to make the switch.
Whatever, Seahawks need to ditch their owner, their coaching staff, and those atrocious uniforms... |

hey , hey!! what did Paul Allen ever do to you!?
yeah I read the Mora story this morning , Im skeptical on Mora Jr. Yet he got a little bit of a raw deal in Atlanta. Yeah, there was a good chance Holmgren was going to leave this season hence why I thought there might be some major moves this off season. Dont know if Hassleback is a Mora guy .. .i hope not!
The D im happy with , aside from some tweeking , the core talent is there to be a top tier D.
The top and only priority is rebuilding the run game. Better depth at RB , and tweek O-line , TEs , FBs. |

There wasn't much wrong with the old ones apart from their close resemblance to the Cowboy outfits. I just hate that supposed "Seahawk blue" that's most obviously a sewer green. Pretty lame IMO. |

I liked the old ones too (they weren't ask dark as the Cowboy jerseys, which had a better blue, IMO), but I think the new ones were a bang-on modernization... I like that metallic blue/blue steel/whatever. And while the bright green annoyed me at first, I actually think it works really well.
I was fully behind the idea of the Canucks adopting a similar color scheme, but they really went with the old Seahawks instead... (or I suppose, more correctly, the old Seahawks went with them in 1976). _________________

And while I'm at it.....
Derek Anderson re-signs with the Browns for (gasp) almost 9 mil per year
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d806f3894&template=without-video&confirm=true
Dallas keeps Flozell Adams ( and probably Marion Barber )
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d806f075a&template=without-video&confirm=true
wow, I can remember when running backs made more money than off. linemen
They also got Zach Thomas
Lots of peoples being released and traded this week
the Panthers are cleaning house
they traded Kris Jenkins to the Jets for 3rd and 5th round picks
that's after releasing Dan Morgan, DeShaun Foster, Mike Wahle and Carr.
Jets sent Jonathan Vilma to the Saints, he should really help them immediately ....Saints defense is sorry _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

Why the hell do we sign Asante for 6 years? We cant stop the run and they sign another corner? Or how bout a receiver who wont drop balls and disappear mid year? Don't like this at all...Lito has been a bitch but so has Asante in the past.
At least we got rid of Freak. Good bye and good riddance...
