RECAP
A 3-1 victory over the Stars, Forsberg paired on a new line with Stastny and Bruno, a trio that scored a nifty deflection goal on the power play. Looks like the Avs are finally clicking *knockonwood* on the man-advantage.
Not sure if Foote played or not, very impressed though so far with the play of Ruslan Salei. The guy has more offensive upside than I realized (think Pavel Kubina but without the bad defense) and has been a force on the defensive side of things.

I still think this Forsberg signing was silly ... unless they're hardly paying him?

It's one of those infamous "pro-rated" deals, so in effect they're not paying him much.
It's a miracle he lasted this long. And it's obvious without him, Smyth, or Svatos the Avs' offense is pretty sorry. |

While I agree with you to a point that it was more a cosmetic move than anything, it was worth the risk, especially in light of the injuries to Smyth and Svatos. And quite frankly, the Avs HAD to do something, the product they had was mediocre at best.
So now we have injuries to Forsberg, Foote, Salei, Leopold, Smyth, and Svatos. Fuckin' A what'd we do to deserve Kings-like karma? |
