Looks like the Giants main dude Peter Magowan is stepping down.

The feeling among some Giants fans is that with Bonds (his primary meal ticket) gone, he doesn't have the stomach to go through a rebuilding process, and will walk away instead of signing more Zitos.

*whew* I was about to say, no it's not! Laughing It's Clay, not Taylor.

What's not funny is that the Rox' season is well into May, and our erstwhile ace, Jeff Francis, has yet to win a game. He got SCORCHED in his last outing against the D-Backs.

As I said before, the worst thing to happen out of the whole "Rocktober" run was that Clint Hurdle earned some job security. He's a good guy, but truly one of the worst managers in the league. I don't like his coaching staff a ton either.

So how much time does Riccardi have left?

Drafting Ricky Romero will really haunt the Jays for a long time. I like the job JP has done, but I think he sometimes makes one too many trades. His lack of patience with Big Hurt and dishing Glaus for Rolen were questionable moves. The man has built a great pitching staff, and should receive credit for that. The team was mashing two years ago, and have been steadily declining in that category, mostly because of JP.

Ted Rogers opened his purse strings big time for JP, I think they'll let him ride out the season only because the Jays will spend on a big name GM in the offseason. Cashman big, perhaps.

They don't quite pack the magic of Orioles baseball!

And here I was expecting to read about the Yankees thong Laughing

Quote:
Jason Varitek [stats], meanwhile, became the first catcher to work four no-hitters in his career. Varitek was behind the plate for the gems thrown by Hideo Nomo (2001), Derek Lowe (2002), Buchholz and Lester.

Hopefully Manny struggles a little with the long ball over the next few days.... I'd love to see him hit is 500th on the 28th.

Finally seeing my first ever MLB game! Very Happy

So the question has been asked on the local radio shows: Were the Rockies that good, or was the rest of the NL that bad?

You probably know my answer to that one... Mad

I'm watching the Giants/Rox game right now. The Giants are making the Rockies look pretty good. Mad

Well, it took about a month and a half for our erstwhile Ace, Jeff Francis, to finally earn a win. Ain't no way this team pulls off another miracle run at the end of the season.

Fuckin' BCers keep screwing our team up!!! Mad

Derek Jeter just got hit 2,416th hit. He passed Mickey Mantle on the Yankees all-time hit list.

I'm watching the MLB draft right now and loving every minute of it. The Giants take Buster Posey with the fifth pick. He played all nine positions in a game this year! He's usually a catcher.

One of the Blaze coaches is a teammate of mine in Maple Ridge - why he's coaching on the other side of the Fraser is beyond me, all I can say is, this Blaze kid can apparently MASH... how he fell to 16th... well, Morneau also fell to the 3rd round... A lot of teams are going to wonder why the hell they passed on such a stick...
