Strangely I think the Flames match up well against this team. Kipper always comes to play against them......

I would have rather had Minny but at least it isn't Detroit.

This is a good match-up. The Flames went 3-1 during the regular season vs. San Jose, including 2 wins in San Jose (though for a while earlier in the year, the Sharks couldn't win at home). I think Kipper is the series MVP here, but I still think SJ will win.

The Sharks, to me, look like the contender that peaked too early. They could possibly get two very long series in a row here off the bat (Calgary, then maybe Anaheim if Colorado beats Minny).

I do think that this is the greatest chance of a genuine first round upset, though Ian wouldn't call it that. Laughing

Actually, if you look my at my predictions, I stated that -- to my own surprise -- I feel like there are a few clear favorites this year. Mathematically there shouldn't really be, but a lot of teams were stronger in one half than the other this year.
