Wow...again an unexpected result, at least given how the Avs looked to be on their heels. I didn't get to see too much of it but most of what I saw in the 2nd period was all Wylde...and Theo. They hammered away relentlessly and got stopped at every turn. The Avs just pretty much outlasted the Wild once again, getting two goals from Wolski and Stastny (FINALLY!) in the 3rd.
Once again, gotta give Wolski credit. He's getting hardly any ice time and virtually no time on the power play and yet not only is he not pouting, he's contributing big-time to every Avs victory. No player on the ice right now is doing more with fewer minutes.
Great to see Paulie get off the schneid finally, it was his goal that stood up as the winner after Rolston scored from the point with seconds remaining. Beautiful effort too, a spinaround right in front of the net and a high backhander past Backstrom. |
