I think they should trade him, but I don't think it should be now. I figure Sundin is on a mission - but this time, his mission is to be of high value at the trade deadline.

I don't know...how much "rebuilding" can you do with a defensive core so bad and so overpaid and so immovable...on and off the ice? What assets can you really sell off? You can't move Gill, you can't move Kubina, you can't move Tucker, and you sure as hell can't move McCabe...so what'll you get for Sundin? The Leafs'll be lucky if they can move either one of their goalies...neither looks even remotely worth the dough with a defense this porous, and this is a bad market for goalies right now.

If JFJ isn't fired this season or shortly thereafter fans should sue the shit out of MLSE, demanding a refund and a no-more-no-movement-clauses clause.

Due to cap reasons I think he has more value closer to the deadline. But before all that goes down you'd see a management house cleaning anyway.

Call me bitter, but I truely believe that every trade JFJ doesn't make can only help the team in the long run. Fire him first, then consider blowing it up.

Either way, he is the second line centre the habs have been looking for.

As a woman of color I resent that you implicitly think that my ass is for sale.

I was about to ask for a title, and boom, there it was!

If you ever find yourself back in McGilltown, I can tell you a funny backstory about me and the Japanese.

Excellent point. Keep Sundin around so a competent GM has some good trade bait.

I can't believe JFJ still has a job, although I think the Toskala trade will eventually look pretty good.

When might that be, when Pogge is finally ready for the NHL? Laughing

Trade Sundin for Brygalov, Wellwood for Halak.

Give both goalies 3-year deals and see which one sticks. By then Tuukka Rask will be finishing up his Calder winning season.

No sense trading him with the crack fiend as GM. We need a new GM to get us some youth and new scouting org to improve picks. We also need to get rid of the underperforming overpaid D. Someone's gonna want McCabe right?
