I think the Pens have been built with the near to perfect balance. Vets and Rooks......Marc Andre Fleury is the decider.

I'm picking the Rags. I can't pinpoint a single reason why. But I'm banking on a long series with each team losing some key players as to make the winner unfit to compete in Round 3.

I'm also picking the Rags in 7. Like Sask, I have no logical reason why, just a strong feeling in my gut.

Great game. I am sitting in a hotel room in Monroeville, PA - just outside of Pittsburgh and, Lord be Praised, I can get Versus on the TV. EVERYTHING here is PENS, PENS, PENS. Even at the Pittsburgh airport, there were hundreds of signs saying "GO PENS".

This area is ROCKIN'

Oh, yeah.....GO PENS!

Good to see Hal Gill drop the mitts at the end and go after Avery. The little shitbag slashed Fleury twice, didn't get called, then tried shoving him with virtually no time left.

Fuck the Rangers. I hope this one goes 4 straight.

6-0 is a helluva way to start the playoffs...if they get Gary Roberts back, look out!

Yup. I'll continue to say GO PENS until they play the Wings on the finals.

Man, there was at least 3 times in the game yesterday where I was watching Shanny stand on top of Fleury in his crease, and thought "100% chance Holmer would have gotten 2 in the bin for that". Fleury has to establish the top of his crease more, but that'll come with age.

He was also pulling the reverse Avery, complete with yielding a high-stick. I don't care if it didn't make contact with anyone, that's a dangerous play.

Yup, you shouldn't be able to carry your stick like that whether you're facing the goalie or not. I wonder if the rule states that you actually have to make contact.

No he's not. George Bush is the Decider!

Anyways, last night when I was watching the game, I was wondering, has any team made it more than 7 in a row on their run through the playoffs?

I want the Pens to win the cup with 16 in a row. It would be like the year Boston just ploughed through the competition for the World Series.
Longest playoff winning streak

12 Edmonton Oilers, 1984-85

Most consecutive wins, one team, one playoff year
11 Chicago Blackhawks, 1992
Pittsburgh Penguins, 1992
Montreal Canadiens, 1993

Detroit won 8 in a row back when you only needed 8 wins to win the Stanley Cup, which was where the octopus tradition, the one that Little fucking Gary is trying to get of, began.

And in overtime its OVER.

I thought the Rangers aquited themselves pretty well this season, I don't see the aura of disappointment that are clinging to teams like Montreal, Ottawa or Colorado; they played hard against tough foes, and went down fighting, with their pride intact.

I think Jagr may be done, though.

Rags have nothing to be ashamed about (apart from anything to do with Avery, who thankfully is a Rag no more after this) and I have much higher hopes for their future without Shanahan and Jagr after this postseason run.
