| I use an external hard drive connected by USB and do automatic back-ups with Titan Backup. |

Got a fancy External HD enclosure as a present a few years ago, which I connect to my PC via external SATA. I love it, it is awesome.
I use a really simple, no frills piece of freeware called "karen's replicator" to do a weekly file-copy backup, which, since my computer is more a toy than a tool, is really all I need.
Obviously the on-line backup idea would be more fool-proof, since an external hard drive can crash as easily as an internal one, and in any case wouldn't help much if the apartment burned down, the whole computer got stolen, or something else equally catastrophic happened. I just like to feel like I am in control of my data's destiny, for good or for ill. _________________ (Working in a Call Centre) + (Being a Leafs Fan) = (One HUGE glutton for punishment)

Bot a Maxtor 500gb USB external; it backs up weekly and works quite well. If you time it right, you can pick one up for under $100 on eCost.com. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

SmartDisk FireLite.
I like it because it gives the Firewire port on my iBook a raison d'être. _________________

I have a firewire port on my custom PC. It doesn't get enough love. _________________ John McCain is fit as a fiddle… Is 71 the new 30?” - Fox News' Rich Lowry

I've had several Maxtor drives crash out on me so I use Western Digital Backups.....
I also bought a Fantom drive which is about $30 cheaper and I haven't had any issues yet.
I haven't even thought about using online storage. _________________ -UP THE IRONS! |

External USB drive with weekly XCOPY based batch files running the backup.
I'm old school like that. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |
