For the Codec thing: reboot.
Also, try "VLC media player" (http://majorgeeks.com/VLC_media_player_d4674.html)- even if you don't like the player, it come bundled with a bunch of Codecs that MP can use too.

Thanks for the advice dudes  I have VLC, but for some reason or another it tries to do the stream in WMP and it doesn't work...
Missed most the game after that post about Datsyuk. Saw Ott being an idiot at the end of the game again, instead of, you know, actually trying to win a playoff game. And Ribeiro's swing.
Didn't see those two calls you're talking about, Bruce. What happened?

Turco got tripped from behind, handling the puck by Cleary I think. It was pretty clear, Turco fell, and no call. It also almost caused a turnover for a shot at a vacated net. Also, just generally Turco isn't being given space in his own crease and it irritates me that it's allowed. It's "legal" (as in, they allow it), but I can see that frustration spilling over into trying to "get" the other goalie. Ribeiro's swing was obviously a pretty fucking dumb way of doing that, and Osgood's Ribeiro-esque fake job on the ice made it seem worse.
The other ones were "interference" calls. I don't think it's interference when the puck has arrived and the guy is just too shitty of a player to actually corral the puck (McCarty in front had it go right by his stick).
Generally, good well-disciplined teams get levity, but I don't understand how that applies to Chris Chelios at his age and the career he's had, but it somehow does. He got away with the same play later, and actually a little more obvious as the puck hadn't arrived yet (not merely the player let it go by or whiffed on the pass).

I didn't see it, but apparently Osgood butt-ended Ribeiro as he was passing the net just before the play.

I never like to see people exaggerating like Ozzy did. I just don't like it.
Turco slashes the hell out of everyone whether they're in his crease or 5 feet outside. He gets a ton of leeway from the refs for that, and does it when they aren't looking. That kind of thing doesn't earn you many friends with the refs as a forward or a goalie, and I wouldn't be surprised if the refs are a little hesitant to give Turco calls because of it. I'm not saying that guys should be allowed to go freely into his crease, but considering how he uses his stick the refs aren't going to give him many calls.

What the hell happened to Franzen? All I've heard is that he was out for game two and may be injured. I can't even google it. And everyone is talking about Tiumennen (or however you spell it) and his blood clot.

Apparently he's been playing with headaches since sometime in the Colorado series 
Outside of the officiating, we have Helm with his first career NHL goal, Ozzy playing solid and confident in net, absolutely killing Dallas on faceoffs(game 1 63% and game 2 71%), and shutting down Dallas' power play. They had 4 opportunities to tie up the game in the second period, including a brief 5-on-3, and Detroit shut em down. Tippet eventually got around to throwing his 4th line out there on the PP.

Oh yeah, it was a dirty beating. Detroit deserved to win, so in a way, my officiating beef was really just a general thing.
You guys better beat the shit out of Pittsburgh, though. I can't stand watching Hal Gill draping himself over forwards and getting away with it anymore. And I can't stand seeing Jarkko Ruutu anymore. Fuck, why did Tuomo have to build his house on an Indian graveyard and get cursed for his whole career, fucking up his family name by having everyone think of Jarkko first?
