Wonder what his true demand would be if he was to go on the market and not just sign with the Leafs at a discount. Not sure how happy he can be with the public handling of the deadline last year, would not surprise me if he is smarting up about where loyalty will get you.

Well now that he's won the highly coveted Mark Messier "I Need to Stay in the Spotlight So I'll Arbitrarily Invent and Maintain an Award" Award, no doubt his market value just crashed through the roof.

(Ed. note: Remember when Messier's award was a monthly occurrence? Has someone told him to tone down the egotism and only do it once a year?)

Does he have Briere, Gomez, or Drury value?

Clark admitted, however, that if Sundin has second thoughts about finishing his career in Toronto, maybe it's time for a change.

This dude thinks he should go to the Wings

Detroit will have a bunch of open cap space next season that will get used in the following season by Zetterberg and Franzen's new deals. So for next year, Kenny could give Mats a good one-year deal. Nothing longer than that, though.

Sundin seems content to run out his career on one years.
