Supposedly, though I haven't seen anywhere else that's reporting it. Apparently a 2 year deal. We'll see, I suppose, if it is announced early this week.

Not a big deal either way, except I suppose that it shows that they believe he is definitely a NHLer now after the whole not making the team out of camp episode.

If he were a Hurricane, he would have gotten 4 years/8M. Because Bob Gainey isn't an idiot, Lapierre will be the last player in the league making less than 1M after his entry-level deal.

You see, and my complaint with him is that he doesn't piss opponents off nearly enough. Laughing

2 years, $1.375m total. Makes $575,000 next year and $800,000 in 2009-10. Cap hit is $687,500 per year. That's pretty cheap.
