And Dino gets the shaft again. I don't like the Anderson selection... a complimentary player surrounded by greatness.
Recently deceased Ed Chynoweth is elected as a builder and Ray Scapinello is elected in the officials category.
Cicarelli and Gilmour should've been elected this year, IMO. And Bure had to be considered strongly as well. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. It's just a trick to get Glenn back in Canada so he can pay alimony to his ex. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

Right on Glenn! I believe this is the first DU alumnus to get into Toronto!
Keith Magnuson (God rest his soul) should've gotten in already.
And hey, screw you, I don't care if he scored 139 points in 589 games, he more than made up for that in PIMs. |

Magnuson was a DU alum? Weird... because he's also a Blades alumnus. But I suppose it was the SJHL Blades and not the WHL Blades, and before the modern NCAA rules all came into effect. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. Strange they don't have his time as a Pioneer listed on Hockey Database. |

if Cam Neely is in, Bure should be in, more goals, more points, less games played.
I wish there was a standard for letting people into the hall, HHOF seems to be the only one with no standard |

I posted the standard on the old OTP. It goes something roughly like this:
If a player:
A) was active before 1923, he is in, no matter how good he was;
alternatively, if a player:
B) comes from a rural Ontario town or a working-class Montreal suburb;
C) played for an Original Six team;
D) has a wife named "Millie" or some such;
E) is the subject of a semi-humorous anecdote by a Canadian hockey person who has either worked for CBC or written a book
then he's in. _________________

Pratt made that point today. It's a ridiculous assertion. Bure was a one dimensional goal suck, nothing more. Sure, it was one HELLUVA dimension, but Neely had it just as much. On the other hand, Neely could hit, fight, and play defense, things Bure could only dream of. Bottom line, Bure couldn't hold Neely's jockstrap.
All that said, Bure belongs in there before some of the other stooges they've admitted. Dick Duff? Please.
The true crime is that guys like Adam Oates, Doug Gilmour, and especially Rick Middleton aren't in... |

Awesome to see Igor get his due. If it wasn't last year it was definitely going to be this year. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Agreed... Igor might be one of the few who should make it in both the HHOF in TO and I'm sure there's one in Moscow... I'm far less enthusiastic about the Anderson thing per Sask. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

| Anderson was a damn good player. Again, if you wanna throw him out fine, but toss out the other garbage that got in with less talent and production than him... |

How the fuck do Gilmour and Oates not get selected? Larionov deserves to be in but not ahead of Dino. That's a token nod to the Wings much like Neely was to Boston and Bure will be to...............uh Russia.
Glenn Anderson? While deserving I suppose he has very little on the rest of those nominees. Even the Little Ball of Hate was up for it. _________________ -UP THE IRONS! |
