Michael Grabner at the five-day conditioning camp - long and short of it is, he continues to develop and may yet make it to the Show.
Prab Rai saying all the right things... I hope he gets a decent chance; if nothing else to make it to the Moose.
Patrick White update - still only 19 but finally developing physically; now if only he would play at that size... Will continue to play for the Golden Gophers (played with Kyle Okposo (Islanders) and Blake Wheeler (Bruins)).
Schneider saying all the right things -
Q. So Cory, what do you think about making the jump to the big club next season?
A. I think starting 40 or 50 games with the Moose would be a good thing. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Patrick White has been given a hard time about wearing Canuck merchandise in Minnesota.
Someone explain this one-way rivalry to me again, please? Just one more time? If it were the other way around, people would be screaming "inferiority complex."
All I can say about White is, thank the good lord he got a haircut.

Amazing how he went from looking like any one of a bazillion 15-year-olds to looking like a college junior in one year. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Also noted at the bottom of one of those articles:
| Quote: |
| Canuck GM Mike Gillis confirmed Thursday he has tendered qualifying offers to Group 2 free agents Rick Rypien, Mike Brown, Zach FitzGerald, Nathan McIver and Ryan Shannon. All are now restricted free agents, subject to offer sheets and right to match. Goalie Drew MacIntyre is a Group 6 unrestricted free agent. |

Uh... Bertuzzi in 2003 playoffs? Seems pretty self explanitory to me.
Given that the Wild don't have much of a history, you guys qualify as their earliest non-Dallas rival. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. So a guy who hasn't been on the team in a few years once made a comment to a fan (over which they got the last laugh anyway), and that's the foundation of some big ongoing rivalry? Doesn't more serious stuff happen on the ice in any playoff game? Doesn't add up to me. That would be like Hab fans hating the Ottawa Senators to this day because Vaclav Prospal was once disciplined for using the term 'frog.' _________________

So the Wild aren't allowed to have a rivalry with anyone? Seems to me the games between the two teams are pretty intense. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. How did I say that? All I said is that if the long-ago comments of a departed player are really the reason for a rivalry, then it seems awfully manufactured. _________________

I'm just saying that not a lot has happened historically for the Wild, and while that's the reason it started, Wild fans have taken to the 8 games a year they play the Canucks as something to look forward to. It may not last... I think the Ducks have become quite hated (2 playoff losses, the May cheapshot on Johnsson, tons of goons on both teams), but I mean... it's the Ducks. I think they identify with the passion of a Canadian fan base moreso than Snoop Dogg and Arnold.
If the Canucks were a new team, they'd probably have a similar rivalry going on with another team that just didn't care as much. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. There has been some pretty vicious yapping back and forth long after Bertuzzi left, and wasnt there a bad hit or two that got one side up in arms? No one will believe this but I haven't followed it closely enough to know for sure |

Ohlund's slash of Koivu nearly killed the Wild's season. There's a lot of reasons for the hate. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. It was Gaborik with the flying elbow to Keslers face that you are probably thinking of.There is definitely a nice little rivalry forming between these two clubs imo. |

That's true. That was a really stupid retaliation by Ohlund, perhaps it wouldn't have happened if Koivu's elbow to his head had been called. |

I hope to see Sauve move up a notch or two to 8 this season if nothing else to make up somewhat for the loss of Bourdon. Don't know if Simek dropping from 8 to 12 is all that concerning given that he was already a longshot to get a look with the team anyway. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.
