| Speculation is Sundin privately told Montreal and Vancouver its between them. Other speculation from the Canucks side of things is ironically Vancouver needs to shorten the deal to one year..which I would imagine would please everybody. |

If the Canucks obtain Sundin ...not that Im betting on that happening.. its friggen Led Canadiens de Montreal for crying out loud we're competing against!
but lets say if he does... am I the only guy who can see a Fredie Modin for one of our D(Bieksa..though I would do cartwheels for Salo) trade following? Assuming Modin isnt crippled.
Thats looking ahead , just tossing that out ...its friggen friday!!! |

I've heard that GMMG has more moves planned even if Plan A succeeds, although seeing BXA's name getting thrown out worries me...
We don't have anyone pushing the Top 6 any longer - I don't consider McIver even as a 7/8 guy and I haven't got a clue about the FNG we got in Davison; Baumer is okay as the 7/8 guy but if he's there for the long-term, I'd be very concerned.
I'm hoping for a bounce-back year for BXA; Salo, Ohlund and Mitchell have NTCs, so that leaves Edler, Krajicek and BXA as possible trade-bait. I can't see him moving Edler and Krajicek, both are cheap, reliable puck movers and necessary if he wants to go to more of an up-tempo style. BXA is due for a big raise to $3.75M this season so he is the natural choice. I can see GMMG packaging another prospect along with him. He needs to get at least a decent defenceman prospect along with a Top 6 player back, and I doubt BXA, and a prospect would be enough. Or perhaps he wants the cap room and will be willing to give away BXA and get a young defenceman prospect if it will allow him the cap room to sign a $2M UFA forward... Shanahan? Nagy? Vyborny?
I think Ohlund is in his final year, so he might be willing to waive his NTC for the right team - Tampa has a wealth of forwards but none that we could afford. I'd miss Salo's shot on the PP, but I don't know if he'd be willing to waive his NTC, and there might be some concerns about his health. Rumor has it that Mitchell doesn't always get along with AV, so he might be open to a trade. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Could be GMMG's Plan B if Sundin doesn't sign, and he's at least a known, reliable commodity and a better overall bet than Kyle Wellwood. Either way, if GMMG wants to get Demitra's name on paper, he'll need a far better supporting cast than is on the roster now. BMo would help but isn't a guarantee... |

Modin was a guy I wanted Nonis to go after at the trade deadline.
I really can't see Sundin signing with the F******G evil HABS.It would be a real slap in the face to the toronto org & all the leafs nation.
Really how many leaf fans say things like"Now that the leafs are out lets cheer for the habs." Most would rather die a bad death.
Also I don't care how rich you are there is a significant difference 8 mill & 10 million $.Last is widely held the myth that Montreal offers him a real a chance at a SC ring--do they really?--they got knocked out by the flyers who were not a real threat to win the east.Plus if Sundin really wanted a cup he would've signed with DETROIT!!!! _________________ Oct 7 4:29pm Hockey - Pending 20.00 to win 330.00

Which is what I have been saying all along, how serious is he about winning, or is it just about the money. _________________

Part way down, you'll read that the Canucks had exclusive rights to negotiate with Michael Ryder before July 1. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. they were discussing Striklands comments on 1040 yesterday. THe word is that his so called "canucks insider" is Scott Mellanby. Which leads to speculation that Stirkland is pretty reliable for Canucks news right now much like Darren Dregar was in the Nonis era. Btw Dregar is now the no.1 source for Ducks news lol
Unless Gillis wanted both Ryder and Bernier... if given the choise I'd rather have Bernier. Up until this past season I would've said otherwise but seeing Habs fans and media's reactions to Ryder... blessing in disguise imo. I just wonder what did Gillis have to pay to get those exclusive rights. You can have him , Razz...enjoy the laziness. |

Strickland claimed to have a "source" with the Red Wings(who some thought was actually Legace after he left), and who Strickland continued to site for a bunch of BS about the Wings. Take what he says with a few grains of salt. Maybe it's different with other teams such as Vancouver, but as for the Red Wings? _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I know it's not news but Gillis was on Toronto radio and did say the offer for Sundin at 2x10mil is still on the table for him to take. Just an update. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

he's never been lazy for Julien. Carbo likes his Ruskies and his Frenchies, period. He'll be good for us, just not 4 million a year good.
I'd take Bernier too - younger, bigger upside. However, we have the coach who has gotten good things out of Ryder before, so that was the more natural fit. Besides, Buffalo was hardly going to send a kid with sniper potential to a team in division. Sometimes these things happen for reasons other than "gee, who would I like to get on my team"... |

no wager needed , its my personal gaurantee. If they're still Canucks by July 30 , I will be your (J21) Ed McMahon yes man for the season, You can pick my avatar and sig for the season excluding my owed Bears wager to Sakhab and UV Protection 40.. or whatever his name is! and I wont bash the Sedins all season... I am as confident and sure like Todd Bertuzzi heading into game 5 vs Minnesota Wild in 2003 playoffs.
Im not thrilled about Marleau either but Im going with what's available and what Gillis seems to like. Marleau seems to be a fast version of Cody Hodgson's potential. I think Marleau is somebody Gillis might like... Mellanby might like him too. |
Hmmmm, I know it's just the 30th there but I don't think the rest of the day is going to change things. |

since its my last before i become J's Ed McMahon and I cant bash the wonder twins...
Sedins are chokers , they are a modern day version of Tanti Sundstrom... they will never lead this team anywhere but to the land of mediocricy. |

Well...he's actually got a more proven track record than Bernier. If all he's gotta do is stand in front of the net and put it in the net, he'd be a good fit for the twins, assuming Bernier isn't. |
