It seems we may have lost Salo and Bxa both Mad

AV said Bxa's cut was pretty deep and he was enroute to the hospital,He than stated that Salo was also on his way to the hospital for an injury around the orbital bone and that it looks like both will be lost for some time. Evil or Very Mad
FUCK!!!!As if it couldn't get any worse!!

The preliminary report on Bieksa is that he severed 60% of his achilles tendon. He'll be out for the rest of the season if that's true.

A broken orbital bone will require a plate so Salo is definitely out for some time. I hope he recovers from it better than Derek Morris did.

A partially severed achilles!?!? YIPES...what a horrid accident. It's amazing it doesn't happen more often since about the only guy in the NHL I know of who pads the backs of his legs is Tomas Holmstrom...sad and very freak accident nonetheless.

Looks like Edler, for better or worse, is a Canuck full-time for the remainder of the year.

They are announcing 6-8 weeks for Bieksa ..he had surgery on the tendon today. I thnk thats just selling fals hope , I think he'll be out 8-12 weeks at the least.

Salo is still ? .. no fracture on the orbital bone but damage to the nausal area

It seems that this should be rock bottom for this year's adversity. Someone will have to step up on D for the Nux, especially over the next 8 divisional tilts or this season may be over before they even have a chance to duplicate last year's run after Xmas.

He played well for them last season, anything helps at this point.

Were you too busy listening to Billy Ray Cyrus to remember all that "Cowan the Brabarian" hoopla last year? Laughing

I remember it, but I also remember what Cowan did in previous stops around the league. That is to say, nothing...

Cowman gives a bit of grit to a Vancouver team that desperately lacks it. He's no hero, but when he comes through it's appreciated. Now that Biexckxa is fucked we'll need all the grit we can get. That said, your Isbuster has been looking better and better Mad . COCK! This team needs a diffibrilator. I like Ritchie's spunk, but it's negligible. If only they'd let me try out, I'd show the fuckers, all of them!

Saves them lots of money though. Danny Markov is available, btw, thought to be looking for 2.5 to 3 million a season...

He's not available. He signed with Moscow.

OH GET OFF ME BOTH OF YOU!!!

Laughing

I thought the salaries were averaged out for cap purposes, no matter what the salary increases are year to year. Course reading the CBA is on my pile of things to do, along figure out which is Luvah's "special table" at the Pump Jack...

It's an average over the terms of the contract they are currently playing under. So, since his 2007-08 salary is based on the 2 year contract he signed in 2006 (a contract that basically stated he was now on a 1 way deal), it's a really, really, low number. The "extension" he signed over the summer is actually a whole new contract, starting in 2008-09. That's when his cap hit will get adjusted. Essentially, that Bieksa contract is like the new Kiprusoff, Heatley, and Spezza deals... they all don't kick in until next year.

As for Luvah's "special table", I'm afraid I can't help you on that one. Wink

Jesus, so any cap relief they get from the dead weight coming off the books will be tempered by BXA going ON the books for 3.5 million...
