Love Madchester shit. Primal Scream, fucking Charlatans, Stone Roses, and some Happy Mondays up in this shit.

For some reason I have "Sorrow" by Bad Religion on repeat. Really underrated song by them.

No, but does that imply that you dig the song too?

Yup, I always liked that song. I always liked Bad Religion but for one reason or another never downloaded much of their stuff. Anything you can recommend?

My favourite Bad Religion album is Against The Grain.

I like the The Gray Race. Quick and punchy.

Thanks dudes.

Pink Floyd - Pigs (Three Different Ones). I really like this song. Kind of spans a few eras and styles of Pink Floyd.

Uh... really? They were already old then. Laughing

It was the first album of theirs I bought, but that's only because it was the first that was released after I bought a CD player (the week after it came out in 1996). They're my sister's favourite band, actually, so I knew them quite well.

Random inclusion here... the new My Morning Jacket is hilariously bad. Well, beyond anything, "Highly Suspicious" is a song that completely ruins everything that you've ever heard of a band before that. I genuinely liked My Morning Jacket, and probably still do, but that song is so retarded that I don't know how to react to them any more. I just want to yell out "IT'S HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS OF YOU!" and shit about "peanut butter pudding".

The Gray Race was one of the first punk CD's I ever owned, and I still think it holds up today. They might have been old by then, but that was 12 years ago and they're still releasing ok stuff today.

Yup, the new MMJ is a disaster. I was one of their biggest fans once. "Highly Suspicious" sounds like Prince doing a cover of Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box."

http://www.blender.com/TheGreatLilWayneDebate/articles/26400.aspx

An interesting roundtable discussing the merits of the new Lil Wayne album including Robert Christgau. Wayne is the most exciting artist in music today, that much is certain, but the critics here say his music hits on a mood level similar to Eno's work in the 70's, and at one point they say he's as lyrically interesting as early Dylan.

He's an amazing lyricist, bordering on the kind of absurd wordplay that makes you laugh out loud and take notes.

"I Feel Like Dying" is essentially a perfect song.

It also doesn't hurt that he's so prolific, churning out mixtapes on a near monthly basis.

Lil Wayne is getting "music people" interested in music again.

I don't know how I missed this CD......

Its strangely idiotic but at the same time the melodies are good. Old boy certainly has anger issues....not recommended for easily influenced teenagers.

Four tracks into Viva la Vida now...I wasn't expecting a ton, I'm not a big Coldplay fan to begin with, but so far I'm pretty bored.

Have you been able to check out Chris Cornell 's unplugged version of this? Butch made me aware of it-got my copy when I got my HD. My personal fave though is his Zeppelin cover of Thank You.
