The new Oasis album Dig out your Soul It is not due for release until October 6 in the UK, October 7 in North America but you can find all sorts of unofficial releases all over the net. The song Falling Down is Noel Gallagher at his best. This album is probably their best work since What's the story (Morning Glory) In case all of you haven't figured it out, I am a mad Brit Pop / Madchester fan...

Caught Oasis play in Ottawa this year. Not an inspired performance, I'm afraid. They don't play anything from Be Here Now and Standing On Shoulders anymore, which bites. The new record is better than the last two, but rife with really bad plagiarism. They need to lay off the distortion, because I think bad production has hampered what was actually some of their best songwriting in ages.
The five most played on my Zune right now:
Fleet Foxes - s/t (song "Your Protector")
The Dodos - Visiter (song "Fools")
Why? - Alopecia (song "Fatalist Palmistry")
Ratatat - LP3 (song "Flynn")
More Or Les - Truth About Rap (song "Brunch") _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

You're complaining about the lack of Shoulders and Be Here Now? What the?
Saw them in Edmonton on the same tour. It was a blast. I never go to stadium shows, so it was a bit of a novelty, but they were pretty bang on in that preformance.
There were plenty of good songs they didn't play... I'm not going to shed a tear if they didn't play the one good song from each of those two albums. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. I don't care what you, music scribes or the band themselves think: Be Here Now is a fucking classic.
I want to hear them play "My Big Mouth," "Stand By Me," "D'ya Know What I Mean?," "it's Getting Better, Man" and "Don't Go Away" live. Shoulders was underrated too, especially "Go Let It Out," "Where Did It All Go Wrong?"
I suppose since it was the fifth time I had seen Oasis, and being in a city as putrid as Kanata, watching them play second-rate versions of hits I was familiar with didn't make for the best show. At least they don't play the acoustic version of "Wonderwall" anymore - loved the new version of it.
Oh, and the "I Am the Walrus" and "My Generation" covers suck. Largely because they are sucky songs in general, but Oasis should really stick to their impressive catalogue. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.
