Hey didn't say I didn't like 'em, in fact "Eminence Front" IMO is the greatest night-driving highway song of ALL TIME, I just don't collect any of their albums... Smile

I spent most of today listening to The Who. I now have an excessive amount in my collection thank to Chuck. Not that you can ever have too much Who.

PLANTS AND ANIMALS - PARC AVENUE

Early contender for album of 2008. Anyone who likes Wolf Parade/Arcade Fire with more of a jazzy, earthy vibe.

In keeping with the jazz theme, I've been listening a lot to Return to Forever's Romantic Warrior. That album was cut back when Scientology still had some mystery to it.

Chick Corea may be a nutbag, but we can still rip on the keys like no other.

F'n Awesome! I gotta tell you I think I have finally started finding decent tunes lately with Big Elf and now Bang Camaro.

Of course they are from Boston so they rock even more....but apparently there is like 20 dudes in this band...........its freakin hair metal with a sting of KISS in it. Just take a listen to Push Push (Lady Lightning) instantly recognizable from Guitar Heroes. But Pleasure (Pleasure) is a real gem. Find that here http://www.myspace.com/bangcamaro its also in Rock Band

CD isn't anywhere in particular and is even harder to order than Big Elf....have to order directly from cdfreedom.

Apparently they were just in Denver

At least some bands are still making great music videos:

BTW, my favourite song lyrics in a long time.

Greatest cover of all time: Jimi Hendrix covering Bob Dylan's All along the Watchtower

Close, it was Ben E. King who co-wrote and sang the original Stand by me

GANDHARVAS!!!!!

These guys were underrated in the realm of post-grunge. Possibly because they only released one good album then became a bunch of pop star wannabes, but this was some good, funky, hippie-based folk-grunge. Blind Melon didn't have shit on these guys.

I Mother Earth, Glueleg, early Watchmen, really early Treble Charger (they were done after the first EP), Headstones, Pursuit of Happiness, Rainbow Butt Monkeys (none of this Finger nonsense), Rheo Fucking GOD DAMN Statics. Some good, forgotten CanCon relics right there.

Hold on, Ghandarvas released more than just Sold for a Smile? Laughing I like the album version of First Day of Spring more than that one...

Glueleg...my brother has that CD Laughing Funny(or on purpose) the order that you mention those two bands...Glueleg eventually became Edwin's band...

I Mother Earth remains one of my favorite bands to this day, and one of the most underrated bands of the past 15 years, imo anyway. A girl I went to high school with(a year older than me) was one of the dancers in the Another Sunday video. My buddy used to live in the same building as Jag and Christian's parents.

Red is still my favorite song. I've got a drum stick that a friend of mine gave me from their drummer. I fucking hate that they turned into a bunch of Sum-41 wannabes Mad

My uncle was almost the drummer for the Rheostatics. He was a couple of years ahead of them in high school and they asked him to be their drummer. He figured they were a bunch of kids going nowhere Laughing

They're not forgotten... Mad Awesome post dude!

Man, I loved Glueleg. Saw them play a 5 song set at Edgefest (back when it travelled) in '97 and was hooked. Bought both their albums and eventually bought an obscure 4 song EP of theirs as well. Their first album, Heroic Doses, kicked major ass.

"There's no way of knowing, nowhere to know, know how long is enough". I think that's the chorus, right? Laughing

The Headstones were very good for 3 albums before falling off.

Early Watchmen? Geez, that's a while ago. I can't even remember that shit.

Yeah, the Rainbow Butt Monkeys was a WAY better band and band name than Finger Eleven. Yeesh, when they made that change, you just knew they were going downhill.

I never bought any Rheostatics, but I liked what I knew.

I Mother Earth were an insanely talented band that made one great album but changed their style to whatever was hip at the time... their first album was produced by the same guy who produced Guns N' Roses and sounded like a metal album, their second was their mid-90s alternative sound, and eventually the band ended up trying to sound like a rap-metal group without a rapper... I guess like Korn. Anyways, Scenery & Fish did kick ass, and Dig had it's moments, but the band really wasn't the same after the Edwin split, but they did much better than what Edwin did solo. Laughing

I never bought any Pursuit of Happiness, either. And yeah, Treble Charger just never lived up to their early hype. Though for radio-rock, there are a lot worse out there.

Was anyone a Limblifter fan?

Fuck yes! First two albums were awesome, At least they set out to make catchy pop music from the start, and succeeded more often than not. The video for "Vicious" was awesome - lots o destruction (thank you YouTube). I preferred them to Age of Electric - their other group.

Anyone dig the Killjoys? Doughboys?

I'm still a huge fan of all of their stuff. God Rocket into the Heart of Las Vegas from Quicksilver Meat Dream is amazing.

I've got a couple of killjoy tunes on my comp. I think they played Doughboys on Buffalo's 103.3 the Edge today!

Anyone else own the Slowburn album? Rusty was also awesome.

Damn, this album isn't even listed in allmusic.com Laughing

All I can remember of the Killjoys right now is "Today I Hate Everyone" although I know a lot more songs. Did The Doughboys ever have anything more than their one album?

Rusty? Man, I never bought their albums but I remember hearing they were supposedly great. Then my friend got one and it was all fucked up with nothing but random noises. Apparently they released a ton of those. I think he returned his and was able to get something else for some reason.

Yeah they have at least 3 or 4. They released a few in the 80's that were amazing. Here's a kick-ass video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azuPlHAaYG0

I'm listening to Salmonblaster right now. Kewl.

If anyone has any Rusty, please email it to me. I loved them, but I only have a couple of mp3's left.
