The best/worst song ever written.
I have a feeling if I ever develop a brain aneurysm, this is all I'll be able to hear in my mind. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

Yup. I nearly changed the station because the beginning sucked so much ass (like all new Metallica)...but then there was actually some rockin' guitar action for the last while... |

Well. if you're going to bring up a '70s standard bearer of rock 'n' roll, why not another?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhkJBBTBA4M
Throw in some Bad Company's, "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" and it will feel like 1975 all over again. Fuck Yeah!
Incidently, I had hair and sideburns similar to Lonesome Dave Peverett back then. |

| Well, I will admit that I allowed myself to see the VMAs just this once because the Nebrasquosie DVR'd it to show me Christina Aguillera's rather oddball performance. Good news about that is I got to fast forward through all the painfully bad performances and unfunny antics to watch Pink's star-pasty covered boobs and Katy Perry. She looked amazing, but sounded terrible. |

Two of the best records of 2008, and they're both free!!!!!
The first is Wale's Mixtape About Nothing which is a rap mixtape inspired by Wale's favourite television show, Seinfeld. It's inspired by samples, popular quotes and episode themes, and a great track about Michael Richards' comedic blunder from a years back. It might seem like a gimmick or a comedy record, but it's neither. It's an incredibly creative lyricist taking pop culture references and putting his own stamp on it.
The second is Jay Electronica's What the Fuck Is a Jay Electronica? It's a faux-mixtape because Jay hasn't actually released anything yet, so some pissed fan assembled all of Jay's mp3 tracks and formed a full mixtape. Jay is really inspired by movie soundtracks, and in this case takes Jon Brion's work on Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind and turns it into pseudo-socially conscious rap.
If 2008 is any indication, hip hop is really on the cusp of another important evolution. It's still a vastly unexplored musical territory, and new artists are really starting to understand that. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Metallica - Death Magnetik.................can't even post a picture. Whatever gay ass Metallica.
Their best days are definitely behind them. They are better suited booting James and getting a singer that knows how not to sing. _________________

I heard that tune .... I guess it would be considered there first single off the album? (name slips my mind) ... It was ok I thought ... Just ok. Props to them for sticking around as long as they have, just not really my thing .... I'll stick w- my old school, Pre-90's Metallica.
Or:
These guys have always been a personal favorite of mine! One of THE BEST metal/thrash bands w- a tremendous amount of talent. These guys can fuckin' jam!

Testament opened for Judas Priest when I went back in July. It was ok, but death metal really just isn't my thing. Couldn't understand a word and "preach" sounded a lot like "preacher" which sounded a lot like... well, they all sounded the same.
Also, if you're going to carry the mike around all the time, just ditch the silly little half-stand.
Damn, did those kids in the mosh-pit have a good time, though!! _________________ The Triumphant Return of Treebait!! |

Well I am ready to really review Metallica's new CD. I am sure like every where else you will read it will say this CD is pretty good. And I won't say anything else. This is a trip back down the lane that made these Metal greats Gods. I dare say it could be on par with Ride The Lightning .....
Alas......from opening until ending this is something I can actually bang my head to.......I skip over Unforgiven 3 and I've even learned to stomach the first 5 minutes of the "The Day That Never Comes."
Stand outs for me are "All Nightmare Long: (f'n rocks) and "Judas Kiss."
Overall this is a return to their beginning roots. Aside from James still not learning that he needs to STFU sometimes this is a very acceptable CD from Metallica. _________________
