Actually, no. Kind of a Father's Week present... My wife bought me GTAIV, too. Other than take the shrink wrap off, I haven't played it yet other than to watch my nephews play it... _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Wii Sports which is included in the console, has bowling... My youngest was 4 when we got our Wii and he enjoyed it... Mario Galaxy is a terrific game that is rated E; but I think it might be a little too challenging for a four-year-old - so you'd HAVE to be play it to help out. _________________ ... Thanks for the info TCL, may go the Wii path as she likes to do some Play House Disney games on the computer but her recent efforts to just click stuff and see where it goes concerns me as I envision here deleting or drag and dropping stuff we need to oblivion. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

Mario Galaxy is a great game for fathers to play with their sons, because the father can play as Mario while the kid operates the icon that absorbs star pieces and shoots the star gun at enemies.
Playing as Mario can be complicated, but the star gun is perfect for kids.
Look, Mario Galaxy is one of the greatest games of all-time sir, all Wii owners should have a copy. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

My sons started out on that... Along with games in NickJr.com and others... Once they got going on the Wii, they've never gone back. Another good place to start is the Webkinz.com site, assuming your daughter has at least one Webkinz. Kiddie crack and I'm not too ashamed to admit, I spent some time 'helping' my son earn Webkinz $$ by playing their simple, intuitive but still engaging games...
The boxing that is in Wii Sports can also be a pretty good workout...

My seven year old sometimes asks for help so I work the star gun while he plays as Mario.
I would agree that Mario Galaxy is a terrific game... My 26-year-old nephew has spent hours bonding with his younger cousins playing that game. It's the kind of game that really makes excellent use of the motion control of the Wii controller and still makes it challenging for kids of all ages.
We once rented Spiderman Friend or Foe (E 10+) for the '360 and it was ok, so we bot it for the Wii - not so okay. It was tougher to defeat the enemies and the combinations were much more difficult to achieve on the Wii. I also bot Superman (E 10+) for the '360 at Best Buy for like $14 and it sucks. Terrible game. On the other hand, Lego Indiana Jones (E 10+) is so far at least, great for the '360; can't say how good it might be for the Wii. _________________ ... Anyone playing Age of Conan: The Hyborian Adventures?
I'm going to start playing tomorrow, I wanted to know if anyone was already hooked on the game. I'm honestly very surprised my PC was able to meet the massive hardware requirements. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

Nah, haven't played it, sorry dude. I've never played a pay-to-play online game...Fucking Motor City Online :Chris18: :Chris18:
Still planning to finish the Oblivion expansion. Turns out that I hadn't played the game a ton since the backup I made of My Documents in September...
Mostly NHL08 lately though. Looks like that PS3 purchase is on hold for longer than I wanted it to be _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I just picked up Overlord: Raising Hell for the PS3. The Ps3 is finally starting to pick up steam. This game is all about being evil and damn it I like being bad. Go Minions! Attack that helpless peasant and bring me his head!b _________________

RIP, Xbox 360 #2:
- Bot 6/21/06 with 2 year PRP at Best Buy
- Replaced 5/25/2007 with first RROD
- Second RROD; unrecoverable error - RROD inescapable, 6/27/08!!!
- Brought to Best Buy, half expecting to have to buy a new console; other half hoping they'll overlook this...
- After half an hour and some fancy talking by Customer Service Rep, replaced #2 with new console - one with HDMI port!
- Since MS dropped the price by $50, it cost me a mere $0.92 to get a new console, with another two-year Best Buy PRP...
- And to top it all off, the new box even had a copy of R6V2 in it!!!
- Plugged in the new console, kids playing Lego Indy Jones as we speak...
- tCL 02051964 is back in bidness....
PS... Anyone want a copy of R6V2 for XBox360? I'll sell it to ya CHEAP!!! _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

So I fired up R6V2 after a week off last night... XBL said that there is an update so I accept... Strange thing happened, but I didn't realize that I was already ranked as a Colonel - wasn't it only last week that I leveled up to Captain? Damned, that Alzheimers is acting up again. Whatever, must be some kind of weird mistake... Then, partway through a T-hunt mission, I level up to Elite! Which is 400,000 ep (Captain is like 235k)... Later I find out that Ubi had updated the A.C.E.S. system so instead of topping out at level 20 for each of Marksman, CQB, and Assault, they now each top out at 100, with a 5,000 ep bonus for achieving each successive ACES achievement after 20... So now, I am at 36/30/23... I actually think they've made it too easy to achieve Elite status...
Also, Ubi has three new/old maps available for free - CQB-Dark, Murdertown-Dark, and Calypso Casino revisited... Tried that camera thing where you can take a picture of yourself and upload it to your avatar in R6V2... It's creepy to see yourself in full R6 regalia shooting bad guys... And it limits the kinds of face and headgear you can use so after a couple of weeks, I took it off because it was just a little too creepy.
Also tried EA's Bad Company demo - poor man's COD3/4. I think I'll stick with R6V2 and GRAW...
Lego Indiana Jones for Xbox360 for 5 and 7 year olds. Dunno what it would be for 44-year-olds cause I can't seem to get the kids off the thing.
EDIT: More info on the latest update from Ubi... So that explains the new numbers for some elites that I've played with... The increased accuracy for the LMG is a welcome update - I like to pack a 21E and Mk.46 with a recoil control stick on both... _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Time to bring back the OTP Pylons? |
If it is, it's not me doing it...

Fuck EA Sports.

I think that sounds great, because Joe Murphy never really reached his potential with the St. Louis Blues.
(Laughs) Exactly! And now he has a second chance to become the best. Wasn't he drafted first overall?
He was an extraordinarily high draft pick, that's all I remember.
I really didn't mean to use his name. But in the end, yes, Joe can sit on his couch and get his name back out there as a great center. |

Saw something interesting this weekend while playing R6V2 in MP terrorist-hunt... There was a movie poster that I hadn't seen before in the Theater and Comcast Event maps for Tropic Thunder... I had heard of companies (mine for one) paying for in-game advertising when the game is first released (I think we are in NCAA Final Four or something) but this is the first one I noticed that was current... Before, these were generic movie posters. Interesting that now Ubisoft can push these ads after the fact, but I suppose it might be a simple matter of leaving an option in the code for special textures...

Current? Oh I'd take issue with Sony actually being able to update in-game ad data to be current. Fuck that. I am sure somewhere some jackass is working on incorporating that into game updates though. _________________

It's coming whether you like it or not... As more GPS units become ubiquitous in cell phones and cars, expect to see more of this kind of "push advertising" coming to you - remember Minority Report? _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.
