Dammit... Santa waited too long to pick one up for the holidays. Nintendo now says that they definitely won't be able to meet the holiday demand. Whether or not that's true, it's still a brilliant piece of marketing to keep the demand high... Mad

It was, but not anymore. With the Xbox 360 riding high and the PS3 sales pike following the price drop, they need to maximize their installed user base now. People were willing to wait for a Wii last Xmas, I'm not so sure they will this year.

But to answer your question. I have a Wii, thanks for asking. Laughing

The Wiis will still be trickling in this season. Stay vigilant o shopper.

None of the retailers around here or in any of the metro areas (Chicago) have any units in stock... People are lining up at 5AM in front of shops that get deliveries of them to snap up what is available; our neighbor had to go to Champaign to buy one...

Thanks, Bosc, but I won't be going up there, but my sister-in-law will be coming down from TO for the holidays; I'll ask her to keep an eye out up there...

Well I'll tell you what the gaming geeks told me. Best Buy is your best bet in any city. They get the most shipments.....and don't reserve systems. They usually get delivered on Tuesdays........if you want one...you should call and make love to the electronics department. That's how I got one last June when they were scarce. Then you have to be prepared to drop what you are doing (this means work) and go down there to get it.

Don't forget to purchase WII Play for the second remote.

NOTE OF INTEREST.....

In case any of you are interested in a DS.....you can get them directly refurbished from Nintendo for $92....includes shipping. They don't come with a stylus or power supply.....but I didn't need it since my son already had spares.

Much to everyone's delight I can now play FF III on the shitter! I am having problems connecting the DS wirelessly.....it seems to only support WEP encryption. Confirmed....it does only support WEP encryption while the WII supports WPA.

Gentiles are so cute this time of year, collectively held hostage by their children. Laughing

Easy for the kids when Mom and/or Dad are secretly just as stoked to get the console.

My guess is you have a repressed memory from your youth about getting a dreidel instead of that red fire truck you always wanted. Laughing

hmmm....knew I should've grabbed one of these awhile ago when I had the chance.

Err...I guess I should say I should've grabbed two since I did buy one, but it was for my friends' wedding gift. (they love it)

Thank you, EBGames! Received delivery of our Wii bundle of joy today!

Now for the really fun part. A friend of mine at work has been busy growing a Santa beard (already had the belly). He's coming over around Christmas Eve to deliver this bundle for the boys... who just happened to put that on their Christmas list...

Oh and Ian, my good neighbors Wink lined up with 74 other parents last Sunday at Best Buy to get their kids a Wii for Hanukkah! 75 Wiis were sold out in less than half an hour - another 10 units were sold at the local Toys'R'Us on the same day - Lord knows how many were sold at Target, Circuit City, WalMart, and so on on the same day. So don't think that you and your Little Quebecoise are going to be let off the hook when your kids arrive... Laughing

Get Super Mario Galaxy. Everything else is rather humdrum.

Already on their Christmas list... Hopefully, a generous aunt or uncle will get this for them. Otherwise, I'll pick it up myself on 'Day after Christmas' Day. Along with my own copy of COD4, if Santa doesn't.
