Good call from "My Name is Pat" Hickey.

Really, all I can think of right now is that Simpsons episode where Homer becomes head of the neighbourhood watch.

Moe or Lenny, can't remember: "He's right! Find someone else!"
Crowd: "Someone else! Someone else!"
Homer: "I'm someone else!"
Lenny: "He's right!"

After 8 straight division games, the Islanders play the role of Homer Simpson.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday, as his Islanders are doing well.

I just thought of something, Chris always talks about the Rangers hangover when the Islanders beat them and how they almost always lose the next game.

Well, this is the next game. Cool

So Huet gets the start tonight. He is 3-2-1 against the Isles.

I think the Dandenault experiment at forward is winding down. He's a decent enough energy guy, but Maxim Lapierre is ready to assume that role, or possibly more, for the next 5 years and we owe it to the organization to use him.

I'm conflicted about Grabbo. On one hand, he's the odd man out on the top-2 lines, and he spends so much time in the press box its hard to gauge if he's NHL ready or not. I think we're waiting for an injury or some opening for him before sending him down. Then again, his style of play (reckless in the offensive zone) doesn't translate well to the NHL. He needs better instincts at avoiding turnover situations.

The era of Kostitsyn has been slightly understated thus far. He has such a quick and deceptive shot, once he stops missing the net he'll be deadly. Ryder is going through Chuck Knoblauch syndrome - something mental is preventing him from shooting confidently. He's putting the effort at both ends but something is seriously wrong.

Chris Higgins scored in the last game, so I'm hoping his slump is officially busted.

I've been thinking about what this team needs, to get over that self-imposed hump. I think we need a veteran forward with scoring touch and size, like a Mike Knuble-type.

I've been very disappointed about Mark Streit's play in this recent slump. I think he just needs a friendly slap from Jarvis. I wouldn't be opposed to dumping Gorges (who is serviceable but doesn't project to be anything more than a 6-7d) and finding another vet defenceman. Breezer still can't skate.

I just feel we've retreated back into that shell where we rely too much on the goalies. The Boston game was the exception, but I don't think we can win if we're not aggressive and drawing penalties early.

Yeah, we really smoked them in the second period. The Isles are losing their cool, hopefully we can turn this into another blowout.

A) Send Grabo down and bring Laps up. Grabovski hasn't shown that he is ready for the NHL, whereas Laps has.

B) Higgins goal was beautiful. Love the guy.

Missed most of the game. But liked what I saw.

Not much else to say. Hope Higgins & Komisarek have some good Thanksgiving time with their folks before the Buffalo home and home on Friday and Saturday. Good for Higgins to score in his "hometown".

I am really starting to wonder about this "Rangers hangover" that Chris always talks about, not to take anything away from the Habs as it appears they played a very good game.

I would be curious of the Isles win-loss after Ranger games.

Where the hell is Chris anyway?

When I saw the score was 3-0 Habs, I pretty much thought the same thing.
