If this performance didn't get JFJr fired I dont know what will. Even if they did fire his dumbass its gonna take years to dig out of the contract abyss he put them into. TO flat out looked like they didn't know they were even playing a hockey game. All that dough on D and nothing to show for it. I feel bad for Maurice, looks like the Leafs have stopped playing for him. How the F can you lose to the Yotes 5-1? I hope Peddie makes the change even if he isn't getting any pressure, its a pride thing dammit!

Who do you get? The one genius move JFJ made was to screw it up for a few years into the future as that could be his job security.

Does it matter at this point? Bring Killer back as a GM, hes got to be better than JFJr. You know something is wrong when you have Dallas Eakins as your right hand man.

Watching Ron & Don trying to assess the Laffs situation was priceless (and unintentionally funny).

Don: Tucker's warrior. Wellwood's a warrior. McCabe's a warrior. But you can't win with goaltending like that.

Ron: I know we both love Mark Bell (the idiot who got into two fights and can't skate for shit). I think Maurice was implying they're going to call up Ondrus and Newbury.

Don: I want to show Alex Hockeykarovsky, this kid has no heart. (proceeds to show footage of him sitting on the bench, his head clearly not in the game)

Ron: They have to do something about Jason Blake, he's dying out there.Laughing

These two morons are so clueless and perfectly encapsulate why the Laffs remain in first gear. The roster is flooded with checker and grinders. Don and Don keep heaping praise on the precise players who are runining this team.

Yeah I would say Ron could have chosen a bettr choice of words. Cherry's face almost dropped as he said it (as did mine). They did show McCabe giving his man a free pass on that goal. It sucks when your team is made up of unworthy grinders i.e. guys that can't fight, hardly check, or win battles on the boards. At this point maybe we should actually take a cue from the NYI and hire Cujo as our next GM.

Darren Dreger: "Sources close to me indicate the Leafs are screwed."

http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/dreger/?id=223675

Quote:
On-ice record aside, the Toronto Maple Leafs believe their organization to be the best in the league and as such are said to be considering a culture change unlike any that exists in the National Hockey League.

The concept of having a point man surrounded by a group of veteran hockey minds who assess change and map out the future collectively seems to be gaining momentum.

"It's not about one guy," is how a source close to the Leafs responds to the endless speculation over John Ferguson's demise.

"The whole culture has to be changed, the whole template over team management has to be changed."

That sounds like the dumbest idea ever. Can you imagine how difficult it will be to make personnel decisions with that many cooks in the kitchen? It will get catty in a hurry, and I don't think that format will entice experienced, intelligent hockey minds.

No one will know who to hold accountable, great idea.

Well he is a name people know and he'd likely be willing to take the job so it would not surprise me. I'd like Fletcher I suppose but not sure he'd at his age take the headaches and required rebuild years.(as if he'd be given them anyways Mad )

Apologies if this was posted already:

Quote:
Chaos continues to surround the Maple Leafs, as it has been reported that general manager John Ferguson attempted to fire head coach Paul Maurice last week but was not allowed to do so.

As discussed in Monday's Toronto Sun, several sources confirmed with the paper that the Leafs are frantically searching for Ferguson's replacement.
