The funny thing with hearing the talk about JFJ getting canned very soon is that if they do, who the hell is going to swing a Mats deal? The hydra? Laughing

That's why I've been calling for the guys head .... I don't have the trust in Fergusson to swing the Sundin deal .... I in fact have my doubts he even will trade him, as he seems to only care about "right now" .... look how well that has panned out. I mean, the guy hasn't even put Raycroft on waivers yet .... I have my doubts now that he will even be picked up off re-entry waivers, whereas, a month or so ago, he may have been.

At this point, I’m starting to wonder if this guy is even of sound mind? I mean, the average Leaf fan could have done a better job at managing this team then Fergusson has. I would have NEVER traded for Andrew Raycroft, I would have NEVER signed McCabe to that ridiculous contract, I would have NEVER signed Pavel Kubina to the kind of money he did, I would have NEVER made that deal for Toskala & Bell (is he even playing?) …. I’m just fuckin’ … oh whatever….. I’m tired of this shit!

The problems all start at the top, Butchy.

If they can Ferguson before the deadline, I have even less trust in the hydra to make any sort of decision that would result in a decent Sundin move for the team. If anything, they'll get the interim person to just dump prospects and draft picks for more junk rentals.

Well not sure who if any will be around next game between the coach and GM.

Oh and unless the replay showed it to be an accident Sundin could be gone for a few games with the little shove on the ref at the end. Laughing

Did you guys see the post game interview with Maurice on CBC after the game? Man that was tough to watch. Poor guy looked almost in tears, like a coach who knew he had coached his last game.

He actually looked like a man who hadn't slept in days; Maurice isn't failing for lack of effort either.

The whole thing has actually left me with a genuine case of the melancholies. Sad

Quite an interesting HNIC tonight. Between the interview with Scotty Bowman and the post game with Maurice it sure added to the Soap Opera that is this years Maple Leafs.

I agree it was hard to watch the Maurice Post Game, it looked for sure that he was going to start crying. Sad

My fear is with this rapid decent into the basement they manage to find someone who finds a way to push this team to another 10-15 pick rather than top 5.

Ohhhh …. Well I’m sure Larry Tanenbaum & Richard Peddie will both be sitting at the draft table in June …. Flip the 1st overall pick in this year's draft for Carolina’s pick & Sergei Samsonov. And then go on to tell the press that they almost hired Scotty Bowman as a GM, though elected not to & expect to have a GM in place by next years draft. They will then announce they’re plan to coach the Maple Leafs themselves.

Who own the Leafs!?

“Owns” ….. “OWNS”

Isn't an "interim" person usually promoted from within?

Would somebody please tell me what incentive Fletcher has to do well if it's all but set in stone he would be replaced during the Summer?

Haven't the Toronto Maple Leafs already tried the Cliff Fletcher route before & wiped out there already slim cabinet of prospects?

You know - this is ... oh fuck it!

TRADE ME RIGHT FUCKIN' NOW!

(And hang up!)

Did you see his interview tonight during the second intermission? I seriously hope he doesn't make another dumbass trade as he eluded to....
Random comments:
Only against TO could Samsonov have a 3 pt night.
Amazingly Hal Gill was the only Leaf with a minus...it should have been Kubina.
Vesa does not appear focused at all...

http://www.leafsaretrash.com/

Here you go guys, a good link to follow the Leafs on for the rest of the season.

Seriously though you know things have reached a bad level when many Leaf bashing comments are being replaced with sympathy from the rest of the hockey world.

CBC's replaced the Leafs/Sabres game from national telecast to the Habs/Pens game this weekend. Of course, as long as you have a CBC Ontario channel in your digital cable/satellite package you'll still be able to watch two non-playoff squads instead of the #4 seed vs. the #5 seed, complete with watching the biggest superstar in the league.
