Many think the Leafs have jobs on the line tonight, many have been wrong about many things before also.

Sort of weathered a first in which the shot differential exaggerates the dominance of play a bit. Not that Toronto isn't outplaying Montreal, it's just a lot of desperate action by the Leafs putting shots on net.

Common theme, though, is Toronto winning faceoffs cleanly. I say common, because Montreal seems to lose more than their fair share of faceoffs.

Mismatch out there as Streit & Bouillon just aren't playing very well as a pair and the Leafs grind out a goal.

Kovalev to Markov to Kovalev on the PP. Those are just so pretty.

That'd be White, Ian.

Kovy with 2 PPG tonight and Dandy takes a penalty.

BTW, Kilger was Markov's responsibility. Komi and him easily could've squeezed him out had Markov not let him get inside.

Ah well.

Surprise, surprise. Habs go into a defensive shell and take a penalty. When will Carbo learn that the team needs to be able to generate some pressure offensively when they've got a late lead? They're so passive and get burned consistently because of it.

What a joke. The Leafs hand us the game by not staying out of the box, and we completely choke the game away.

No heart, yet again. Reminds me of our amazing choke job last season.

Koivu picked a hell of a time to have his worst three-game stretch in years.

Doesn't matter if we win in OT, because we lost a major test of character.

God, could shootouts be any more lame? This is ridiculous. Bring on the Ducks and Canucks already.

They've called the zamboni back TWICE to flood the strip down the middle.

Habs win in shootout. Blah, blah.

Is this it? The end of our seemingly endless barrage of division matchups?

I guess there's one thing to be actually happy about.

I'm actually glad the Leafs put on a strong show for Maurice's sake, but in the end, Price and Mtl are simply the better team. I really can't say enough about Price - once he learns the moves of NHL players, watch out. Fun game, always a wacky one that goes down to the SO between these two teams. Could watch one every week.

Going back to the Leafs - it being their forum and all - while it was good for Maurice, I wonder what this does to Ferguson's firing. Meddle said that he's not "reactionary", but ya can't tell me he won't turn around and take this win as evidence that the team isn't all that bad. Laughing
