We get Yuegling. I think it tastes like skunky ass.
Also PBR has become trendy and it's not that good so...yuck.
I like a few of the beers from the Southern Tier Brewing Company, Magic Hat, and Ellicottville.
Yes, I've been to the brew pub, once. But it was cool. I wasn't really drinking a lot that night. I was out with some TKD students and parents and had to behave a bit. _________________ RIP Manimal |

They started brewing PBR in Guelph, so it became more available 'round these parts.
When I was in Colorado in 2005, I would routinely down a twelver of PBR a night. It was dirt cheap and I found it tasted the same even if it got warm (a plus since I didn't have a fridge). Nobody was drinking it then, but it seemed to follow me back to Montreal, and when they started selling it here people latched on.
I'm not taking credit for the resurgence of PBR necessarily, but I was able to funnel two cans of it at once without burning my tastebuds, as it was building a reputation as being a blue collar brew.
I like the taste. It tastes "beery" without hitting you over the head with it.
PBR is still better than Keystone, Milwaukee, MGD, Miller High Life, Steel Reserve, Colt, or any other discount brand.
OK, maybe not Steel Reserve. _________________ John McCain is fit as a fiddle… Is 71 the new 30?” - Fox News' Rich Lowry

My local microbrew...

The Czech Mate is probably the best beer I've ever had. Now that I know it's on tap at Calories on Broadway, I might just have to go there. I also have a friend who has told me she'd take me to Boffins sometime, and they have it on tap. I'm not huge on their IPA, but the Black Cat lager and the Bete Noire, as well as the London Porter are delicious. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. Heineken ....blech
Chuck and Rob and I used to drink $2 big cans of Icehouse at a little place called the Essex Street Pub. You know, toward the end of the night when you're running out of money. It was the kind of beer that gave you a hangover before you were done drinking it. _________________ RIP Manimal |

Yuengling is good. So are plenty of American beers, just generally not the biggest ones.
Molson Canadian is not good. To use that as an example of good Canadian beer is an insult to real-life brewers. _________________

When I lived on Mount Rainier for 8 months all I drank was Rainier beer. For a Canadian away from home it wasn't bad beer.
Now if I'm going to have a beer I like Corona - but it has to be ice cold. |

I've been drinking PBR almost every Tuesday for about ten years with my one pickup group. It has become a tradition and we love the faces the newbs make at our beer choice. That said some of those bitching about the PBR like to order Coors light when we go out so take away the label I doubt they really have a clue anyway. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

I think the cat has had it. Looked fine last night around seven when I noticed it and came home from Hockey to see it in the basement curled up whining and throwing up doing the same this morning. My experience with cats growing up is when they look this bad and you go to the vet they rarely come back.
It's a good cat and would be sad to see it go, but my fear is how my four year old is going to take it. She with out hesitation calls the cat her best friend.
argh this will be a tough day. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

Sorry to hear about your cat, Hounsy. I think four-year-olds bounce back pretty quickly from these kinds of scenarios, especially when you promise to get her another one in short order . _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.
