My sister is having a nightmare of a time with Rogers right now. Her phone got run over by a car, so obviously the warranty isn't going to cover it... but even the refurbished phones are $200+. First 'customer service rep' hung up on her, second put her on hold for 30 mins, third was rude and grouchy...

She's decided to buy out of her contract, buy a new phone and switch to Kodoo, and it actually works out to less than just outright buying a new phone with her existing company! You'd think they would want to keep customers, but I guess $400 now to have her buy out beats getting a consistent $70+ a month for the next 40 something years...

Customer Retention is a dirty word.

Yeah, the phones are nice and cheap when you first sign up...but hardware upgrade is expensive. After 2 years with Rogers, when I was getting out of my car my phone fell off my lap and in a puddle, it was there for about half an hour before I returned, and it stopped working.

Went in to upgrade and got another phone...150 bucks, $35 admin fee. Let's see if they honour the $50 MIR. I only got it at that price because I qualified for a certain discount on a hardware upgrade. To otp out of my contract? I think at that point would have been $200 bucks. I probably should have done that. Oh well, too frigging late now.

And of course, when you do a hardware upgrade, they of course have to look out for you...and give you a new 3 year contract.

Just bought a Hawaiian pizza, all to myself. One of those and a six-pack is one of my true pleasures in life.

Next time try with BBQ sauce instead of tomato. You won't regret it.

Well looks like I have an Inguinal Hernia...almost certain will go to doc tomorrow. Great time of year for it, why the hell did this not happen a month ago instead of the beginning of Hockey season.

Shocked Sorry to hear about that, Hounsy - you realize you can't be a top-flight goalie without getting some sort of groin injury, right? Hope everything goes ok...

I really hate it when people use the non-word "irregardless"...

Just dealt with an issue at work regarding Sheldon Kennedy. Weird.

More bizarre run-ins with hockey players.... at a farily small Edmonton club this past weekend for my sister's birthday, Jarome Iginla and a group of other hockey players, most of whom I didn't recognize, were there. Very random that a bunch of hockey players would show up on a Britpop dance night. None of them danced, however. Anyways, also very weird... Colton Gillies was with them. I have no idea what he was doing in Edmonton, I guess he must be training there through a common agent or something.

I'm probably the only one in the club that recognized Colton Gillies. Laughing

You should of waited till he was right next to Iginla then run up and asked for Gillies autograph.

I went out drinking every night this week for the first time in a while. And now I'm eating a crumpet for the first time (an official crumpet, not an "english muffin") and it is fucking delicious.
