according to the Winter Games closing ceremonies that had Vancouver represented , Im apparently an ice fishing eskimo with a snowmobile to get to my friends igloo.

My Grey Cup pick ...The Riders to cover 11.5 (sorry green riders , I have bad luck with my picks but I really do like them). I dont know this back up QB for WPG but Ill take the Riders to win easily.

Winnipeg's got the 2nd best D in the league, and the Riders don't exactly have an amazing offence (effective, but rarely do they score a lot); they'll keep it a close game. I'm taking Winnipeg to cover the spread here at work.

31-26 Riders in Regina, 34-15 Bombers in Winnipeg.

Don't remember exact scores, but we beat them by less than 1 TD (Joseph ran for a last minute TD) on Labour Day, and the next week in the Banjo Bowl Winnipeg kicked our ass badly, maybe by 30 points or so. It was ugly.

Here's how I look at the game:

Better D: Winnipeg by a little bit
Better O: Sask. by default - bigger gap here now because of QB's
Special Teams (returning): Winnipeg
Special Teams (kicking): Saskatchewan
Players that will determine the outcome: Joseph vs. Roberts

Awesome.

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/news_story/?ID=223502&hubname=

Knox (a 24 year old terminal cancer patient)has been kind of adopted as the Riders' ultimate superfan this year. He was given 55 yard line tickets for the Labour Day Classic after his story got to the Riders from the cancer ward at one of Regina's hospitals, and after the game the Riders gave him the game ball and brought him into the locker room to celeberate. He was befriended by a few of the Riders who call and visit him when they can.

Enough money was raised by the public for him and 10 other children with cancer to go to the Grey Cup in just one week.

Congratulations, Roughie fans -- this looks to be have been a special season from start to finish for you guys.

It would have been remarkable to see Dinwiddie turn that final drive into a Cinderella story, but the sticky fingers of the Sask defense were amazing tonight.

I thought this game would be way more of a blowout -- full credit to Winnipeg (and you have to wonder how they would have fared with Glenn) -- but like last week, just enough to win.

Enjoy it!

(And am I the only one who loves seeing U.S. players getting emotional over the Grey Cup? Joseph's reaction was kickass!)

I worked it out, a 18 year championship drought is equivelant of a 60 year World Series or Stanley Cup drought.

Sask, there's something very disturbing about thinking about a man running around in just a t-shirt.

By the way, congrats! Very Happy
