X Files was way better when it was filmed in Vancouver , ... we win!

SHould be a good one , Luongo is still in that zone. I have no idea who is in net for LA , some dude names Jack Quinn was in net on friday , if I had heard that I would've bet against them and I would've lost.

Staples Center
Los Angeles, CA

Monday, Dec. 10, 2007
7:30 p.m. PST, 10:30 p.m. EST

The Kings have lost 4 of 5, including their last one to Phoenix. With Saturday night's SOL to Pittsburgh, the Canucks are now 11-2-3 since their "low point" loss to Nashville, and haven't lost consecutive games in that span

Storylines:

- for Los Angeles, Alexander Frolov has a groin injury (day-to-day) and hasn't played since Nov. 21, and Jason LaBarbera has a rib injury which he sustained on Dec. 1; Jeff Cowan appears to be hurt for Vancouver, as well as the Kevin Bieksa long-term injury

- Anze Kopitar has 10 points in his six-game scoring streak (but is a -5, apparently)

- Jean-Sébastien Aubin had the last start for the Kings; I would expect him to face off against Roberto Luongo tonight. If not, the goalie that Luvah mentioned -- the wonderfully-named Jonathan Quick -- stopped 17 of 19 shots in his only game played, a win against the Sabres

Holy Crap , I was far off on that name. The name Jack QUinn popped in my head , I guess caz I was just recently thinking Dan Quinn and I knew his name started with J , Jack seemed to sound right.

Luongo's let in 15 goals in his last 11 games( It was originally 15 goals in 10 games but I realized the 11th game was also a shutout so I thought I pad his streak). 5 in his last 6 games.

Also the old school 7:30 start time

The Canucks were being very coy about Luongo's health after he spent a lot of time with the trainers on the off-day.

Guess it was something to be concerned about.

Behind his own net, Jack Johnson gets away from BMo's forecheck, makes a great play to start a 3 on 2 breakout, Kopitar gets a 2 on 1 down low with Miller playing the pass, but Sanford commits early it seems and Kopitar fires a backhand over his left shoulder, short side.... Mad

Luongo would have had that... Mad

Brilliant goal by Kopitar, though...

Sanford was bound to have a human game one of these days... I saw the highlights of the second goal and wouldn't really blame him -- it was a very nice shot.

You knew this'd be a game where the Canucks might disappoint, though, for exactly the same reasons they did last time.

Yes, with two of the worst performances on the year. The only thing is LaBarbera played the first and Aubin the second, so we don't have that Sanford X-factor on the Kings' side...

To really put things in perspective, the Kings have lost four times to Phoenix.

I thought the Canucks had a chance still after the first , they were just starting to come on. Aubin wasnt looking too sharp but the 3-1 goal was a kick in the nards , it was hard to see 4 unanswered goals from Vancouver , they looked sporadicly fatigued. They get short burst , then tired again. At least they get to stay in the same hotel.

Sandford gets to earn his paycheque now if Luongo is out for this roadie. Doesnt sound too serious , the guy still played lights out with the injury , it must've been pretty nagging for him to finally decide not to play hurt.
