Tale of the Tape

No Cowan, Isbister, BXA, and most importantly, likely no Luongo. BMo is day-to-day, and Weaver is listed as out for personal reasons. Nucks will have one of its softest, smallest lineups that I can remember in a long time, against one of the biggest teams in the West, one that made a point of pushing Vancouver around and basically kicking a lot of ice in their face the last time they played. Fortunately, Vancouver made them pay for their lack of discipline in that game; without Bobby Luo to keep them in it, I doubt this team, with Jason Jaffray, Mason Raymond and Colin Mochrie, can weather the storm as well in the first period. 5-1 Ducks.

Most know this already, but for the benefit of the many Duck fans on OTP, if Morrison doesn't go tonight, it'd be the first game he's missed since before being acquired by the Canucks back in 2000. Craaazy. Cory Sarich would assume the mantle of reigning NHL iron man.

Good news , Bad news

Bad news , doesnt look good for Van on this road trip or until Luongo gets back.

Good news I will try to cash in Vancouver's misfortunes which some of you know means I will not profit in the end which means Vancouver is killing me again.

According to Botchford, the Canucks will look something like:

Sedin / Sedin / Naslund
Raymond / Jaffray / Pyatt
Cooke / Kesler / Burrows
Ritchie / Linden / Brown

Ohlund / Salo
Edler / Mitchell
Krajicek / Miller

Sanford
Luongo (McIntyre)

With Anaheim getting the last change, they should squash Vancouver like bugs... This could get very ugly...

They'll be out for "revenge" too, because the Canucks "wronged" them by letting them take idiotic penalties last time they played.

I'm somewhat more concerned of more injuries coming out of this game.

The 'good' news is that this is sour grapes: this is the killer part of the schedule for Vancouver and they weren't likely to keep up their unreal pace over this stretch anyway.

Maybe Kesler can get back at Pronger for interupting his goal celebration.

Unfortunately I see this in the same light as J21, in that I see more injuries coming out of this game.

I hope AV tries Kesler with the rookies.

Kes gets the puck to the net and can be dangerous off the rush but he needs someone to keep up and go to the net with an edge.

The rookies have speed....maybe they have hands and good reflexes?

Beautiful goal by the kid,I hated when they sent him down the first time so hopefully he'll make it tougher for them to do it again,IMO the kid has twice the talent of at least half a dozen of the current Canucks ie:Cooke,Burrows,Isbister,Ritchie and Linden etc etc

Yep, Jaffray with a goal, an assist, a drawn penalty (which I believe led to his goal), and apparently very nearly a second one.

Not a bad debut!

Yeah,That line of Pyatt with the two new kids has looked very nice,They've created good scoring chances on the majority of their shifts.

If these guys can keep this up it will definitely help soften the blow of losing BMo

3-2 Final... Nucks outshot 16-1 in the third Rolling Eyes . Hopefully, they don't make a habit of this... How soon before Luongo gets back?

Sounds like Sanford made sure that wasn't an issue tonight.

how about that depth!

I could get Vancouver to the Cup but Ill be in debt and have to mortage my home. They keep killing me with these games where it looks grim..but Im sticking with it , they're not beating SJ ...are they?!?!

Sanford continues to pown the post 21 team expansion era teams!

Kesler has the flu and is questionable tonight , Shorty thinks he wont play tonight.

I hope that line can continue to produce-Pyatt is definately underrated by many--
Is it to early to proclaim Sanford as the best pickup by Nonis this past off season?
Did he steal 2 pts for the Canucks when they got outshot 16-1 in the 3rd?
BTW props to SC champs for finding an extra gear in the 3rd period.
Anyways it was a good game to watch--
