Henrik Lundqvist probably won't be happy with potentially facing Marian Gaborik once every year.

5 goals, 1 assist for Gaborik. No mercy shown.

Gaborik rules. He's got a bunch of hat tricks in his career already, like 7 or 8 now. I remember seeing it a couple of seasons ago and it was an abnormally large number for such a young player, well for any player now really.

What is this, #4 or 5 natural hat trick of the year now?

First 5 goal game since Sergei Federov in 1996. Shocked

Only 42 times has this happened in NHL history. I think I'm definitely removing the question mark from the subject title right now. This is a remarkable achievement, in particular since it came at the expense of one of the top 5 goalies in the world.

I love Daryl Sittler's 6 goals for the Toronto St Pats. Laughing

Watching the game, I recalled all the times you say about a guy who's having a good game "He's a threat every time touches the puck tonight".

Well, Gaborik wasn't just a threat, he SCORED every time he touched the puck last night. He was absolutely ROBBED by Valiquette late in the third when the Wild were doing everything possible to set him up for his sixth.

In a way, this just makes him that much more frustrating from a Wild fan's perspective. Clearly, when he's healthy, he can be on the of the elite offensive players in the league. When he's healthy.

Regardless, a fun night by a very talented player.

Nick, it's not just the Wild fan that his injuries are frustrating for. For a hockey fan, it's a shame to be robbed of this elite level talent.

I still think he's better than Heatley and DiPietro.

I remember watching that game on TV against Washington. What a performance that was. And the overtime winner made it that much sweeter.

Mario's 5-goal game was remarkable: EV, PP, SH, PS, EN

Yeah, they claim that game of Mario's was the most famous 5 goal performance, but I think it was Gretzky's that pushed him to the unreachable 50 goals in 39 games mark.

I'm happy to see Gaborik score goals by the bucketful, so long as none of them are against Vancouver. Mad Unfortunately, Mr. Gaborik isn't one to play favorites... Evil or Very Mad

9th career trick, in case anyone cares.

Kovalchuk also has 9.

Will only be a one year blip as I will draft him next year in my pools.

Though that should free up Havlat to have a good year.
