Rostislav Olesz really impresses me. He's only an average scorer, but he's quietly becoming a great shut down guy and penalty killer.
Maybe he'll become the next Bobby Holik (the good, NJ one). _________________ Beat my drum down in Mexico! To Tijuana, Tijuana here we go!

| If he's becoming a good PK guy then he's already passed Holik. The only reason that glaring flaw in his supposedly flawless shutdown game wasn't exposed was because NJ already had two great PK units (Madden/Pandolfo, Elias/Sykora). |

It's either no one wants to tank it or the overall quality of teams in this league is so bad any team can compete.
That being said, Vokoun is proving himself all over again. _________________ It's backwards time. |

For the latter part of that statement, see the Eastern playoff race last season. Nobody wanted that playoff spot. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

This reminds me of Razz's "horseshit" comment. When there's parity across the board, it doesn't mean everyone's "bad," it means they're all equal. They could be the best ever teams the NHL has iced to date in absolute terms (I would argue this is basically true with every successive year) and the result would be the same as long as there's relative parity. Everyone is equally good/bad. _________________

No way the '02 Red Wings don't clobber the '07-'08 Red Wings.
It is way easier to control the game by coaching now than ever. We're like a bunch of turtles in a bucket right now. _________________ It's backwards time. |
