From news that is not good news. The Tunguska event was updated to reduce the size of the asteroid that caused the decimation (the decimation has since been downgraded as well).
If you aren't aware of this the Tunguska event was an air burst explosion over Siberia from an asteroid. Initially the estimated power of the explosion was 10-15 megatons with an estimated diameter of 60 meters. It has been revised to 3-5 megatons and a diameter of perhaps 40 meters.
If you may be saying who gives a shit well......smaller asteroid encounters are not something that is closely monitored and are much more frequent. If the redesignation of the Tunguska event is accurate it brings increasing alarms to defending against even small asteroids.
