That's a paddlin.
Lidstrom got it started when Datsyuk gave him a feed on a line change, he dangled the Blues defenseman at the Blue line and then buried a slapper short side on Legace. He was pulled after Detroit made it 4-0 midway through the second period. He didn't play bad, but it was time to get him out.
Datsyuk is continuing his torrid December pace in the absence of his 2 usual linemates. 3 assists tonight gives him 19 points this month, with 3 3-assist games for 4 total 3-point games. Great patience and vision and a perfect pass created Filppula's first of two on the night. Voltron has 7 goals in his last 9 games. His second was a nice setup by Hudler for a one-timer.
Hudler, Franzen and Samuelsson were doing a great job of cycling the puck.
Eric Johnson is smooth carrying the puck up the ice. Though he couldn't stay on his feet tonight and bailed like 4 times.
Lilja had a sweet giveaway right to Boyes in the slot but he didn't bury. Also had a couple of beauty penalties because he can barely skate backwards.
We didn't have as many shots as we usually do but controlled the play for the most part. The Blues did have a few excellent chances but Ozzy shut the door. He had another great game. Apparently our average shots for and against this year is 35-23 Another interesting stat: We haven't scored less than 2 goals in a single game this year
They generally give it to the underdog, but Babcock has to be an early favourite for the Jack Adams.
Going into tonight's game we had the worst record in the Central against the Central _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Ruff really wasn't the underdog last year. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

No, he was an exception, as was Bowman in '96. But for the most it's a coach from a team that suprises people or really weren't expected to reach the playoffs. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!
