the talent on this team is phenomenal........in fact I don't think there is a team that boasts this amount of talent.

What the hell is wrong here? The goaltending sucks.....that's given.

My choice is Marc Crawford....I don't think he's the man to lead them.

Marc Crawford couldn't lead a Best Buy, let alone an NHL-team.

I'd say it's less a goaltending issue than a coach who can't coach, a coach who can't coach defense, and a defense who couldn't play defense even if they had a coach who could coach defense.

It sounds like they need either a sofa or a chesterfield...

Losing sure does seem to follow Dave Lewis and Brad Stuart around. Looks good more on the latter than the former... I have a measure of sympathy for pure incompetence, less so for talented malcontents...

Too many of the same type of defenseman (I'm convinced Dean Lombardi just went on a Yahoo fantasy draft to pick which free agents to go after), and Rob Blake has gone from overrated to useless.

And yes, the coach sucks too.

I've heard Blake has been considered an excellent mentor for Johnson, but other than that, yeah, overrated and overpaid at this point for sure.

Think of how much better they'd be on so many levels if they canned Lewis and moved Blake behind the bench as an assistant...

Well there's plenty of teams out there looking to take one of their O minded D-men for a stay at home type. Dean Lombardi should be recognizing this.

Modry, Stuart and Blake are done after this year. Probably no one to bite on their price tags until the home stretch.

Crawford is almost in the exact same situation he was in with Quebec. Tons of talent.....hardly any way for him to screw up. Lombardi is going to have to make the deals here.

Is their a top tier Goalie available on the market this year?

The biggest dissappointment might be Handzus - he looked like a perfect fit to bring a veteran presence and defensive responsibility but he has been beyond awful.

How are Nagy and Calder performing? Nagy looks to be producing at a decent clip. He's also the only + player on the team Shocked

Calder sucks as should have been expected (dude apparently can only play hockey in IL Wink ) and Nagy started rough and was scratched a few times but has been really good for the past month or so. Him and A-Fro are the 'Kings' of inconsistency Mr. Green .

Looks like the LA faithful have pinpointed the answer to Jay's question:

Quote:
Fans at Staples Center weren't holding their breath or their tongues, mercilessly booing the team with the NHL's worst record after each of the first-period goals. Then the crowd of 14,751 broke into a "Fire Crawford!" chant midway through the second period that was picking up steam around the arena before the Staples Center organ interrupted.

That would actually be kind of hard to chant... do you put the stress on 'Craw'? It wouldn't come out sounding like much... Laughing Or do you chant it to the tune of "Let's Go Rangers" and make "fire" two syllables?

Yeah, I'd think it's the "Let's Go Rangers" thing. I never heard it, so I can't comment.
