With a NHL mandated process to clear players to play who have suffered a concussion, teams are trying to find ways around it to get the players back early. Simon Gagne was not listed as a concussion earlier this year by Philly as a result, until he finally came clean and said that it was a concussion. Now, Matt Cullen is getting the same song and dance from the Hurricanes. Mirtle lists two more examples currently on the IR, in Kurt Sauer of Colorado and Tyler Spurgeon, a prospect for the Oilers. And apparently the "c" word is also being used to avoid the baseline tests in regards to Mattias Ohlund's current "neck" injury. _________________ It's backwards time. |

Think it's the same thing with Lupul and his spinal bruise?
Teams also don't want to use the C word because they can't get insurance on a contract for a player with a diagnosed concussion. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

It may all be noise, but Nonis was saying they weren't classic concussion symptoms. So either it's an atypical concussion, he's lying outright, or it really is something else. _________________

Uh Oh..the C word. I think we covered this quite well in the Eric Lindros thread. _________________ No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. |

This being Bettman's NHL, I thought C was for contraction. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.
