Ah, beat me by a minute. I'll erase my thread, even though Av would have preferred my "All-Star-ters" title much more.

Good choices. Finally, Markov and Chara - together at last! Laughing

Yeah I was going to question why no Hal Gill but I guess with Chara already there you don't need two of the same starting.

Lui's not going:

Quote:
Sportsnet.ca -- Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo will forego the National Hockey League's All-Star Game to be with his pregnant wife Gina, Sportsnet has learned.

The baby is due in April.

It would be hilarious if they still did the direct-replacement that got John Garrett into the game back in the day, and made Curtis Sanford the starter. Laughing

Nice! Ozzy's there Very Happy

Only 3 defensemen listed. Zubov should be going if he isn't hurt. Rafalski probably wasn't selected because Detroit already has 4 guys going.

Yeah, it'd have to be Zubov because there's no Dallas player on the team yet.

No way Nabokov will go. That's his only rest for the rest of the season!

And a big thumbs up for the Duncan Keith selection. They could've went with Sharp as the Hawks' choice, but Keith is becoming an unexpected top d-man in this league. I was going to start a wood thread after the Montreal-Chicago game but forgot to.

From what I've seen, Keith is a really smooth skater.

I don't think the full East lineup was ever posted, but in response to "persistent phone calls from Burnaby, BC," the NHL has announced that Marc Savard will replace the injured Dany Heatley on the East squad.

Timmy's pissed, and I don't blame him:

http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/hockey/bruins/view.bg?articleid=1066096

This is an absolute travesty, a shocking crime. WTF does the league have against the Bruins anyway???

I'd love to see Timmy there, but when there are over twenty other goalies with more wins I have to admit I understand the exclusion.

Razz, maybe tone down the drama a little. (1) It's the all-star game, which no one (but Thomas, apparently) cares about; (2) with every team represented (and rule or not, they do this), there is NO way the Bruins are getting three reps on the squad, period. Most teams don't even have two, so it's strange to see evidence of the league "having something" against the Bruins.
