Got his 2nd OT winner in the past week last night vs. Columbus.
He's up to 45 goals and a league leading 72 points... and the Caps are just on the outside of the playoff picture. If the Caps make it to the playoffs, Ovechkin will get the Hart. That's just the way the league works... sorry, Mr. Lidstrom.

Clearly the best player in the NHL. There's no debate at this point, he's even better than Crosby. He can win game singlehandedly like few players ever have.
Should be the MVP, and the Caps should win that putrid division.

Look at that bottom table... if you scale the average NHL goals per game down to this year's pace, Ovechkin is having the second best goal scoring season of all time.... just behind Hull's 86 goal campaign in 1990-91.
