His (ex?)-wife died in California (described as a tragic death, but no details), and he's left his Russian club to raise his 3 kids, who are 10 year old triplets. He was a good blueliner in the NHL, although it's hard to believe he has already been out of the NHL for nearly 5 years.
Good career, Dmitri. Sorry for your loss, and good luck raising your family without their mother.

He was definitely a warrior. Yushkevich played the game with no fear at all and I always liked him.
An awful thing to happen for he and his kids. Good luck Dmitri.

Too bad to see Dimitri go out this way.
He admitted later by questioning the integrity of the Leafs management stating: "The most honest person in the (Leafs) organisation is Carlton the Bear (the organisation's mascot) because he never says anything."
I remember reading that back in the day!
Man, that was such a great 3rd pairing .. Yushkevich & Markov.
