453 games...and he gets benched! That's a way to endear yourself to the team.

In other news Jarome Iginla ties Theo Fleury for the Team goal scoring record.

It seems to me that Mike has deemed certain already paid players expendable. That shit used to work pre-cap but not anymore.....this team is a f'n train wreck waiting to happen.

Confused

Of course, the all-time iron man Doug Jarvis also lost his streak due to a benching.

As Stephen Dorff once said...so fucking what?

I don't know how well or how badly Sarich has played, but if he's not playing well enough then for once I have no problem with Keenan doing it. To hell with streaks...if not for the sake of keeping some meaningless streak alive I'm betting Skrastins would've been benched ages ago. He certainly deserved it long before said streak ended.

plodding Rhett Warrener is certainly not an upgrade on Sarich and neither is Erickson.

My point here...and the reason I posted the article accompanying it is because Keenan seems to have finally taken off the kid gloves and is starting to make his mark on the team. I don't believe his philosophy works in an era where the player (or core group of players) has far more power than he could hope to have.

Again I bet Sutter thanks his lucky stars everyday that he got out of the way of this mess. Blaming Keenan at least secures his job for a few more years.

If we want to bench someone let's bench that tool Mark Smith.

True, Anders sucks serious balls.

I see your point and it's an accurate one, but I think guys like Sullivan, Granato, and Hitler have shown that a players' coach isn't always the answer either. There are still some hard-asses out there who can get the most out of their team )though the two I'm speaking of, Tortorella and Laviolette might be losing their jobs this year Laughing ).

My problem with Keenan's authoritarian approach is that too many times it seems more ego-driven than anything else. I remember one time he yanked Luongo for one shift because he didn't like the way Roberto was hugging the post and then a couple minutes later put Luongo back in to replace Kidd. Neither let in any goals. Rolling Eyes
