Quote:
Parker, 22, said he’d mildly taunted a car full of Flames fans several hours after the Oilers beat the Flames last weekend, prompting his assailants to beat him unconscious — breaking his nose and fracturing his cheek bones in three places.

Yesterday, he said his severe concussion was getting worse but added another headache stems from widespread public comments blaming him for instigating the incident.

“Do they seriously think I deserved to be beaten?” said Parker, who said a doctor has advised him to take a week off of work to recover.

This is why I'm sure to be a gracious winner and gracious loser depending on the night when I wear my Flames jersey to Rexall.

Classless display by the assailants, but does anyone really believe all he did was "mildly" taunt them?

No excuse for violence, but I agree with DH about what "mildly" really was. It's like those kids who got mauled by the lion in LA (can't remember exactly) last winter. "Honest Man, we were minding our own business..." Rolling Eyes

Bullshit......this is a good lesson for young Parker on the consequences of opening his yapper. He must have thought he was still at HF or something.

Certainly not bright to taunt a car full of Flames choker fans.

“This has only made my pride for the Oilers stronger,” he said, though he admitted he’d choose his words more carefully in some situations, which he called “sad.”

While he calls it sad I call it life and a lesson in self restraint.
