In what looks like a solid move by the Lakers, L.A. gets Memphis Grizzlies big man Pau Gasol.

At the very least some of you former Grizz fans should be delighted at the schadenfreude going on as it looks like Memphis is definitely in full rebuilding mode at this point with little hope for a recovery soon.

If the Lakers get Kidd as well...holy shit. Mad

Not delighted at all. If the Magic ball doesn't come up to let them end up with Penny and Shaq, the Grizzlies are still in Vancouver. Handicapping the drafting abilities of a new franchise was a ridiculous idea, and the franchise may never recover...

thats priceless , apparently Hiesly is pulling a Jerry Jones and Steinbrenner , and making the deals now! lol.. they deserve everything they get as long as Hiesly is still there.

Im delighted. I hope they suck forever.

Seriously though , change the team name at the least , its so cursed with losing , plus I dont think there's Grizzlies roaming Tennessee ( or are there?)

Diesel off to the Suns?

http://tsn.ca/nba/news_story/?ID=228956&hubname=

I was going to say a five a Barbosa, Nash, Shaq, Amare and Marion would be insane, but it looks like Marion is going the other way:

Quote:
Earlier on Tuesday, the Miami Herald reported the trade would see O'Neal go to the Suns in exchange for forward Shawn Marion and guard Marcus Banks.

Shaq's done. He's out of shape and more injury prone than ever, and he's a HORRID fit for the Suns. This is a horrible deal for Phoenix, they lose their best defensive player and a guy who can actually RUN with them for, well, a fat, old Shaq.

In other news it looks more and more likely that the Lakers will get Jason Kidd. I'd love to see the Nuggets try and get him but they just don't have the tradeable assets to get the job done. Rumors are abounding the Nuggs will snag Ron Artest...meh. Great defensive player but I don't think we need the headaches he'll bring on a nightly basis.

Is something wrong with Marion? I know he's not as good as he was 2-3 years ago, but Shaq will retire at the end of the season if he's not done already.

Guarantee you D'Antoni is royally pissed about this. Kerr is banking on Shaq's past ability to make any team he's with a championship contender, that's it.

The current Suns owner is a complete ass. He ran Joe Johnson out of town, he rode Colangelo out of town, and now he's doing the same to Marion. Only a matter of time before Nash bolts and the whole thing goes to hell.

To make things more awkward for Phoenix , Shaq criticized Nash's MVP nominations a few years back!

I thought the owner was still Jerry Colangelo. Laughing

I think that was a joke, wasn't it? Someone asked Shaq what he thought, he acted like he was crying and going "noooooo! noooooooooo!" and then was like "congratulations Steve, you deserved it".

And besides, I highly doubt that Shaq or Nash would give a damn about it.

From tsn.ca

"I'm very upset. You just don't really want to get me upset. When I'm upset, I'm known to do certain things - like win championships."

- Newly acquired Phoenix Sun Shaquille O'Neal on the criticism that has accompanied in his recent trade from the Miami Heat.

Man, I don't care much about the NBA, but Shaq is awesome Laughing

Funny that the NBA trade wire is waaaaaaay more busy than the NHL one is nowadays. Never would happen pre-lockout.

Anyway, Cavs pull off an 11-player deal with the Sonics and Bulls to snag Ben Wallace and Wally Szczsczcszcszerbiak. Now Lebron has teammates with actual talent. Yay.

Nuggets drop 168 on the Sonics. Shocked

And Mexico's native son, Eduardo Najera, still only gets one point. Laughing

As a Canuck fan, this was a feel-good article to read... $160 million salary?

Well, Dolan finally learned the lesson with the Knickers that he did with the Rags...he's a moron with entirely too much money on his hands, and should just stay the hell out of the way.

Still, he should be proud...when you can be called the worst franchise EVER in any sport when you're in the same league as the Clippers, well, that's saying something.
